@tc691kiing9 Thank you for the lecture about food wastage. Unfortunately, you assumed that I am a westerner. I am not.
Rising pork prices have nothing to do with rice fields being flooded. Nor does it account for the mistakes made with the storage of China’s rice reserve that resulted in much of it rotting away. These are things that you should have notice, yourself. Don’t simply accept the explanations offered by the CCP.
Your food prices certainly were affected by flooding. That is correct. They have also been exacerbated by a long term problem in Chinese agriculture. Your farmers are aging. Younger people are losing interest in agricultural pursuits. Your farmers say that their margins are too small because of the CCP’s tight control of pricing. Hence, young people are not keen, to take over the family farm.
The policies of CCP are reducing the capacity of your farms, to feed China. The CCP will never admit to this mistake. It therefore hopes to make up for future shortfalls, by acquiring agricultural land, in neighbouring countries (like Myanmar).
I do not believe I have told you anything, that you did not already know. So, start thinking for yourself, instead of accepting everything from the mouth of the CCP.
As for Bloomberg doing a good job… they absolutely have to. Bloomberg is the main source of information for the world’s banking and investment firms. Many governments also rely on data from Bloomberg. If Bloomberg reports false information, it will start losing business.
