@davenobody407 "... it will resist a nuclear warhead...". Standing freely, I'm sure the structure is extremely strong. When there's the pressure if all that water though ... the tiniest crack, would be catastrophic.

@YenzikovALCherasLegend "An aircraft carrier is an ideal target...". Well, an even better target, is something that is bigger, but stationary. One rocket, into the side of the Three Gorges Dam and it's game over. You don't need a hypersonic missile. You don't need a nuclear warhead. In fact, you don't even need a warhead, at all. The dam is under heaps of pressure. So a terrorist could even breach it, with a shoulder launched weapon. Just one little chip or crack, then wait 20 minutes.

@andrewlechner6343 Yes, it is "...a major chokepoint...". That's why other countries would not allow China to control it. Same thing happened in 1990, when Sadam invaded Kuwait. The rest of the world did not like the idea of one man, controlling about 30% of the planet's oil supply. Suddenly, Sadam found himself facing a coalition of 35 nations. Game over.

@davenobody407 Europe!? LOL! Nobody in my family has been to India. None of my ancestors are from India. The crushing majority of people in the world, are not Indians.
