What portion of these accidents, for China and the US, involved the rocket exploding in low earth orbit (producing a significant problem with space junk)?

You also need to define, what you mean by US launches. Are you, for example, counting launches by private companies, like Space X? Some such launches, don't even take place, in the USA.
This year so far, more vehicles have been launched into space from New Zealand, than Russia. How does the NZ safety record, compare to that of China?
