  2. India, as a democracy, is less authoritarian. It allows freer thinking and more creativity. Like Taiwan in the 80's, their people are better placed to transition to high tech and value added production, when their labour becomes more expensive. Conversely, China has to keep relying on, stealing technology from others. It's destined for the, "middle income trap".
