  1.  John Smith  Bottom line: the people of Hong Kong have experienced both British and Chinese rule. They prefer the former. Despite all that you may say, this fact alone really hurts you. You expect us not to notice the selective nature of your retelling of history. You assume us to be fools. Go away and learn about the many bad things that China has done ( and continues to do).

  2.  John Smith  Bottom line: they prefer British rule. They have had good experience of both systems. As such, they are the only people on the world, qualified the make that judgement. That's really what's annoying you, isn't it. Despite all the history lessons that you've lovingly typed out, (all be it, a highly selective summary), the people of Hong Kong, still prefer life under British rule. The reasons for their preference, are to be found in the omitted sections of your narrative.
