@treasuretrails "was"... and it was by force, too. If Russians had treated everyone fairly, no one would have left the Soviet Union. Instead, every Republic that was strong enough to leave in 1991, did so: Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia,Tajikistan etc. Every member of the Warsaw Pact, also waved goodbye to Russia. Get it? They didn't like the relationship. If you really don't know why just pick up your phone, and ask people in any of the countries I mentioned.

@kevinoliver788 The nation's of Western Europe, have not fought wars with each other, for nearly 80 years, now. The same is not true for the former members if the Soviet Union or the the Warsaw Pact. Most of these nations, cite Russian aggression (political interference, cyber attacks, economic bullying... etc.) as a key factor. For example, every day for the last 20 years, they've had to fend off, tens of thousands of cyber attacks, from Russia. If you don't believe me, just pick up your phone and ask anyone in Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Poland, Romania, Finland, Kazakhstan, Estonia... etc.
Yes, Europeans have have faught many wars. Russia though, is staunchest in maintaining this tradition.

@caritas8984 Russia made its own problems. It’s never apologised, for exploiting Eastern European economies, for 45 years (1945-90). It hasn’t offered a cent, in compensation. It has never admitted to forcing, oppressive communist regimes, upon its neighbours. It has failed to convince its former, Warsaw Pact “partners”, that it no longer interested in re-establishing that tyranny. In fact, its recent actions, like thousands of daily cyber-attacks on neighbouring countries, confirm the worst fears of many of its former satellites. Remember the cyber that brought down the Ukrainian electricity supply, in the winter of 2006?
Russia drove these countries, into NATO’s arms. Its invasion of Ukraine only justifies the decision, made by countries over the last two decades, to join NATO.
It is reminiscent of some post-war US policies, that created a "market" for communism, in Latin America. Was it any wonder, that Cubans then invited Russians, to place missiles on their own island?
There is only one way, to win the support of neighbours. Treat them with respect and offer them genuine friendship... and stop whining like a spoilt child.

THE IRONY:
For creativeness/inventiveness, no nation has more graduates than China. The People's Republic has over 140 million of them. That's more than the entire population of Japan, more than the combined population of Britain & France, or the combined population of 3 of their high tech rivals, in the form of Taiwan, Netherlands, & South Korea. It's been like that for about 30 years.
RESULT:
So, where are all the brilliant inventions, wonderful symphonies, or great discoveries? Where are the dozens, of Nobel Laureates? Instead, China is better known for leading the world in the theft of high tech and intellectual property. 👏

In a corrupt culture, who you know is more important than what you know. By supporting the collaborators in Kadyrov's regime, you get ahead. It improves your chances if you're applying for a place at University, seeking a government job, tendering for a state contract, applying for an arts grant... etc. This is not a society, where most people follow, "due process".
Once you've supported the collaborators, there's no going back. They rest of Chechen society, now hates you. So, you then have to defend the trators, to preserve your own life. If they say, 'Go and serve Putin's cause, in Ukraine', you'll do it.

I feel sorry for you people in India. Your country is surrounded by extremist idiots, like this. In Australia, we're very lucky. For the most part, our neighbours are are nice people.
It must be very annoying, worrying, and expensive (defence expenditure), for you.
It unnerves me to see, so many of our politicians from the Australian left, starting to court the Islamic vote. My family migrated to Australia because the country of our birth had become an Islamic state. Now we have quite a few Muslims in Australia and they have the highest birthrate in the country. The politicians who normally champion feminist causes or gay/lesbian rights, are choosing to be less vocal on those subjects. I hope that non-Muslim Indians in Australia, will start speaking up soon, about their experience of Islam. It won't be easy because anyone who talks about it here gets branded a "racist", by people from the left.

No. That's just the way Neil (who has yet to examine the material) said it. The carbon dating, DNA analysis, x-rays, MRI scans... etc., were in fact, separate exercises, conducted by separate institutions (St Petersburg University, Genetech, Harrisburg University, Abraxas, Lakehead University... etc.) over an 18 month period.
I'm not saying the findings are correct/real, or that this is a hoax. Just suggesting, that Neil, is not a good source to measure, with your, "BS meter".

@DieForMetalcore Australia led the world in call for an independent inquiry into the origins of Covid-19. The Australian navy has also continued to freely navigate the international waters of the South China Sea, against the protests of the CCP.
In retaliation, China has:
1. Detained/urrested Australian citizens, who are currently in China, without stating what the charges are.
2. Cancelled the importation of Australian barley.
3. Blocked the importation of Australian wine (with unsubstantiated claims of dumping)
4. Cancelled the importation of Australian beef.
5. Blocked the importation of Australian wheat (with unsubstantiated claims of contamination).
The spokesman for Chinese Foreign Affairs, rebuffed Australia's actions by describing the latter as, "... the chewing gum on the sole of China's shoe."
These actions are not typical of a relationship between puppet and master.
Furthermore, militarily speaking, Australia remains firmly in the American camp. Joint naval, army and air force exercises with the USA, are a norm for Australia and have occurred within the last 12 months. These include exercises in the South China Sea.
Your assertion that Australia is a puppet of China, needs considerable substantiation.

Believe me, we down under are not seeking union with the folks on the continent. They are not sincere about this free trade business, at all. Look at their list of, so called, sensitive products that are not up for negotiation. Three of the 8 items, ruminant meat, fruit, and dairy, that are listed as "sensitive products" not up for discussion, just happen to be the three main exports of New Zealand. New Zealand already has just about zero, in the way of tariffs. We are under no illusions about how these people are going to treat the underdogs, but we'll extract what concessions we can.
Trade agreements and union, are two different things. The majority of us, in this part of the world, are glad that the UK pulled out of the union. We believe it to a good move for the people of the UK, and for us.

@Littlemilkjug533 "All my points are true". Incorrect. You claimed, "Russia defeated in 2 weeks the largest and best equipped army of japan". In 1945, it was no longer the best equipped. Where does Glantz, dispute the notion that the Kwantung army had been stripped of its best equipment, so that it could be moved to more active theatres of the conflict? He doesn't. Show me any evidence, that the 1945 Kwantung army were not numerically overwhelmed by the Soviets, in artillery, aircraft and tanks? Show me any source that claims most of those tanks, were recent (post 1939) designs?
You can't.
Prove to me, that this great Soviet achievement, was in no way, dependent on Chinese efforts, tying up Japanese resources? You cant. You were happy to diminish US achievements, in such a manor, but still won't apply the same principle, when accessing Soviet performance. Why the bias?
Prove to me, that the Soviet Union at the time of the Manchurian campaign, in no way, drew upon US support with arms, equipment, raw materials, economic assistance, or even, food supplies?
You can't.

@globalchinesearmy2307 "We are the smartest... race." Interesting claim.
For over forty years, there have been more graduates in China than the total number of people in the USA. Chinese geaduates, also out number, the total population of the EU.
However, most of the great inventions, discoveries, and Nobel laureates, are still coming from Europe, Japan, and North America... and China still depends heavily on stealing technology. Publications from Chinese universities, fair very poorly in international citation indices.
One expects much more, from 1.4 billion people. Why are Chinese, under performing?

@inebium He thought there'd be a pay-off - the Donbas gas fields and the newly discovered, Crimean off shore, oil. He wasn't expecting so many nations to be footing the bill for the Ukrainian side of the action. It's not only NATO members either. Japan, Australia, Canada, South Korea, New Zealand... etc. Putin's economic, industrial, military, or human reserves, are no match for the combination backing Ukraine.

“Water Wars”, are already a reality. Many of the major river systems in South East Asia (e.g. the Irrawaddy, the Mekong and the Salween) originate in the Himalayas. China has built more than 60 dams, to control this flow. When countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, or Cambodia, don't act according to China's wishes, their farmers may be treated to droughts or floods, accordingly.

JerryMetal claims just 60,000. Russia has not been counting, non-Russians, serving them: Chechens, Dagestanis, Syrians, Ossetian, Tartars... etc. Nor have they been counting Wagner Group, mercenaries. This often accounts for discrepancies between the number of troops that Ukrainians say they have face, in a given area, and the much smaller figure of troops that the Russian's say they have stationed, there.
The point is covered in part of a video, on the Channel "Perun". The video is titled, "All metal, no manpower - Russian infantry shortages and mobilisation in Ukraine". If I include the URL, my comment may be removed.

@YohXoX Russia had its chance at the start. No military aid from foreign countries had arrived, in the first 19 days. During that time, Russians attempted to capture Kyiv, failed, and then withdrew.
As for Ukraine's debts, most of the aid has been in the form of grants, not loans. I know with certainty that all of the military vehicles, ammunition, training and medical supplies, provided by my country (Australia), have been gifts, not loans. Some countries have friends. Others need to hire Syrian mercenaries and paid bots, instead. Get it?

1:33 "A third of China's economic output, is in property."
The main criteria for valuing real estate, has been location. Yet we are moving into an era, in which location, is starting to lose importance.
More and more of us, are starting to work, socialise, study, recreate, shop... etc., online. All those Beijing accountants, psychiatrists, administrators, lawyers, programmers and so on, who can work from home, will be looking at other places; where air is clean, the property is cheap, the streets are not crowded, and there are no CCP spy cameras. What's going to happen to the value of apartments in smoggy, crowded Beijing?

@Littlemilkjug533 You made an interesting claim, when you stated, "Russia defeated in 2 weeks the largest and best equipped army of japan. The kwangtung army. The USA only fought third rate troops."
This is very different to my understanding of the situation. So, I did a little research. I can't find any articles, that properly referenced, to support your claim. Quite the opposite. Just as a quick example, the Wikipedia article (which includes good referencing) says:
"However, as the war situation began to deteriorate for the Imperial Japanese Army on all fronts, the large, well-trained, and well-equipped Kwantung Army could no longer be held in strategic reserve. Many of its front line units were systematically stripped of their best units and equipment, which were sent south to fight in the Pacific War against the forces of the United States in the Pacific Islands or the Philippines."
... and a little later...
"By 1945, the … quality of troops had fallen drastically, as all the best men and materiel were siphoned off for use in other theaters. These forces were replaced by militia, draft levies, reservists, and cannibalized smaller units, all equipped with woefully outdated equipment. The bulk of military equipment (artillery, tanks, aircraft) was developed in the 1930s, and very few of the soldiers had sufficient training or any real experience."
Both quotes are from : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwantung_Army#Surrender_of_the_Kwantung_Army
There's another Wikipedia, with clearly stated sources, specifically about the campaign, to which you refer:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_invasion_of_Manchuria . You'll find some of the comparisons of equipment there, quite staggering. For example, the 400 obsolescent tanks that the Japanese had, against a total of, 5,556 tanks and self-propelled guns, on the Soviet side.

It was painfully obvious that Russia had not anticipated a long campaign. Within days, troops were running out of food and abandoning vehicles that had run out of fuel. In late March, the Kremlin had to pass new laws, allowing Putin to conscript 130k more, young men. Then, in early April, they started hiring Syrian mercenaries.
They definitely thought it would all be over, quickly. In fact, in the first few days, the Russian troops around Kyiv, didn't even bother digging in, at night. They really thought they were about to stroll into the capital.

I don't follow rugby, that closely, and have never played, in a real, rugby match. This try though, is one of my cherished memories. It's importance, in a low scoring match, cannot be overstated.
You can practice moves like this, a hundred times in training, till you always get it right. It's still daunting however, to pull it off on the night, and in a world cup final.

@TheSuluhope Spot on. In preindustrial times, manufacturing buttons, was an expensive and labour intensive, exercise. So, peasants' shirts/blouses had a lace-up, top half, in the front. Therefore, the only wealthy people, had buttons on their clothes... and wealthy women, did not dress, themselves.
I still haven't worked out however, this business of the vertical vs horizontal, button holes. I could just ask a seamstress or tailor but that would be cheating. I want to work it out. If Einstein could envisage curved space and Newton could perceive gravity, then mombaassa shall solve, this third great mystery, of the universe.

If an entire group is lost/die in an expedition, then there is no one to report the details. So, we won't know, if more than one calamity befell them. For example, hostile forces may have attacked them, their water/food supply was contaminated, an epidemic broke out...etc. Such events and a sandstorm, are not mutually exclusive.
A large army may cope with such a set back, but two or more catastrophes, perhaps not. Indeed, one event, may precipitate another. An army weakened by disease or a sandstorm, is more likely to be targeted by other parties.

@MadDog-1961 Don't worry. The fact that my comment received more than 80 likes, should suggest to you that it's not literal. So, here's the background.
Vladimir Solovyov is a popular Russian TV/Radio host and Putin’s number 1 propagandist. Solovyov regularly attacks young Russian men, not serving. He calls them cowards, gay (almost a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. His own sons though, are not serving, despite being of military age. So, I am pointing out his hypocrisy.
Apart from this hypocrisy, I am also highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It's normal for the sons of oligarchs & other Russian elites, to be "skipped", by drafting officers. It's not an egalitarian country.
I don't want his sons to join the ranks... but I do want ordinary Russians to know, how they are being used by the “haves”. I also enjoy calling out that self-righteous, opinionated, shock jock father of theirs.

"world history..."? Really? You sound like an ignorant lefty, who draws conclusions without knowing the facts. Well here's a a history lesson for you (and some geology/geography, as well):
1. Myanmar has loads of oil and gas.
2. Myanmar has been exporting oil, since the 1930's, when it was called, "Burma".
3. Today, nearly all of Myanmar's oil & gas, is directly piped to China, of course.
So, there you have it. That's the reason why no one wants to help the people of Myanmar. The entire Chinese army and air force, is right next door. No expeditionary force, could compete with that and China won't let go of her precious oil.
Educate yourself before making stupid comments.

@seebauong9593 It's nothing to do with, "...more powerful economically". The US, and many other countries are annoyed with China for lots of other reasons:
stealing technology,
ignoring copyright laws
building artificial islands in international waters
shark finning
bear bile,
invasion of Tibet
persecution of Tibetans
persecution of Muslims in western China,
persecution of Falun Gong followers
having current border disputes with 23 countries
ignoring rulings of the international court on the Spratleys
sponsoring the extinction of rhinos
sponsoring the extinction of tigers
sponsoring the extinction of clouded leopards
sponsoring the extinction of black bears
sponsoring the extinction of African elephants
hacking
... and don't forget all those filthy viruses
1957: Asian Flu from Guizhou.
1968: Hong Kong Flu (started on mainland China)
2002: SARS
2009: Dabie bandavirus, or SFTS virus
2012: H7N9
2019: Covid-19
2020: G4 EA H1N1
... and the biggest of all,
1347: Bubonic Plague (aka the Black Death)
But instead, you preach the propaganda of the CCP about others being jealous and not wanting China to be successful. You want us to believe that China and the CCP, are the victims. Nice try, but it didn’t work… 😉
PS: I’m not from the USA or India but I’m glad that China is losing business to India because I know that annoys you…

@briangriffiths937 You'll find that among those troops, will be an overrepresentation of ethnic minorities: Tartars, Karelians, Dagestanis, Tuvans... etc. Meanwhile, in the various homelands of these people, the proportion of Russians, increases each year. It's a form of ethnic cleansing, practiced in Tsarist times, during the Soviet era, and now in Putin's Russian Federation.

@TerryTerius "...power projection wasn't their goal." For the most part, I agree with you.
However, the period from 1970 to around 1987, saw a steady, Soviet naval build up, in the Indian Ocean. The USSR cosied up to some of the island nations there, to secure harbour facilities (e.g., Réunion, Seychelles... etc.). I don't know what was their strategic reasoning.
It was a great concern for us, in Western Australia. In response, American carrier groups and subs, used Fremantle/Perth, as a base for maintenance and R&R... etc.
We enjoyed the huge injection of cash, that thousands of sailors would bring, every 9 or 10 months. Alas, that all ended in the late 90's.

As its labour force becines more expensive, a country must transition to knowlege intensive, highly value added industries, to avoid falling into the middle income trap (e.g., Philippines, Brazil, South Africa... etc.). That change, requires a creative, imaginative, free thinking workforce.
You won't have such a workforce, when you train children with a Confucian based education, implemented by an authoritarian regime. China has over 140 million graduates. That's more graduates than the total population of nations like, Britain, France, Italy, or Australia. So, where are all the brilliant Chinese inventions, the beautiful symphonies, great discoveries and Nobel laureates? Instead, China remains famous, or its dependence in stolen technology.

It makes you wonder, what are we throwing away today, that we will later regret not keeping (a few examples, at least).
I'm not British, but it saddens me when I see that there are no surviving, British Battleships. For more than four hundreds years, they were central to British power, yet not a single one has been preserved. For better or for worse, they facilitated the growth of the largest known empire. As such, they were a major factor in shaping today's human culture. This is the reason that I am typing this comment in English.
It's also a great shame, that there are no more, operational examples of the Avro Vulcan, and no Concordes, still flying... I could go on, but I might end up crying.

@thecaptain6730 Problem is, there's no end to DEI. Even Disney, can'/won't cover all bases of inclusiveness. For example, will they make a serious drama, in which the leading good guys, are played by short, chubby, unattractive people. Right now, even a case of acne, would remove you from the short list. The reverse is also true. If you're better looking than the lead, you're not going to appear in the same scene as them, in a minor role, e.g., the waiter, in a restaurant scene.

@imranc1919 The Rohingya people, firmly support the protesters and Suu Kyi, in Myanmar. Have a look, for example, at this video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_XyOPrsM-B0 . You'll find plenty of other sources to confirm this, including sites operated by Rohingya people.
You’ll also notice, from the various sites and the video, that the Rohingya, don’t blame the people of Myanmar for their plight. Instead, they say that their suffering is the result of false information (fake news) given to the people of Myanmar, by the military.

@qzyiyi5326 No. Nobody believes that the epidemic has disappeared from China. We know about your second wave, and the huge outbreak in Beijing... and the rather obvious fact that Xi Jinping, has not been seen in public for about a week, now.
Only one country has handled this epidemic well, and that's Taiwan. We, in other countries though, remember that it was China that blocked Taiwan from sharing its valuable experience with the WHO. So, thanks to China, many people have died and you can't even bring yourselves to say sorry. That's the kind of people are. The more you write, qz yiyi, the more you confirm this.

Putin does not want to return to the former, "cold war" situation, with just two super powers. The USSR could not keep pace in that arms race and was subsequently bankrupted.
Putin will therefore seek to preserve the current, three power system by supporting which ever of the other two super powers, he regards as being the weaker, at the time. In this case, it's China. He will not however, support China to the extent, that it destroys America's status, as a super power. That would recreate a, two super power system, which is what he wants to avoid.

The countries to have joined NATO, since the fall of the Soviet Union, include:
Albania
Bulgaria
Croatia
Czech Republic
Estonia
Hungary
Latvia
Lithuania
Montenegro
North Macedonia
Poland
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
Can you give me some examples of how any of them have been, "used ... like a disposable wrapper"?
Have any of them, subsequently attempted to leave NATO?
Is there a strong movement, among the people, in any of these countries, demanding an end to their membership of NATO?
Has the demand to leave NATO, ever been a major electoral issue, in any of these countries?
Have any of these countries complained about being, "...used ... like disposable wrapper...", or sought compensation for this mistreatment?

@tlsvd5842 How can people be responsible for actions undertaken, many generations before they were even born? That's illogical. Conversely, the sanctions mentioned are a response to current actions by Chinese people. Your comparison is spurious.
You failed, Wumao.
Worse than that, is what you're implying. You seem to think that because some people in America, did something wrong, over a hundred years ago, it's OK for Chinese, to brutalise Uyghurs. You just lost the moral highground. You've effectively implied that China is committing evil actions, comparable to the genocide, many generations ago, in North America.
No social credit point for this Wumao. Instead, you've just earned a place on the list for organ donors. 🤣
You failed again, Wumao.

@beachcomber2328 "They still have more young than the US."
Big difference, though:
1. In the US, the crushing majority of youth, are not people who were raised as an only child.
2. In China, that only child is later expected, to care for two parents and, up to four grandparents.
Immigration can mitigate the problem, but those who can choose, don't choose China. Meanwhile, the US has to build walls, to keep people out. That difference really annoys you, doesn't it? Even more irritating for you, is the realisation that a growing number of those trying to cross that Mexican border, have come from China. It torpedoes your ideals.

Russia wants a second port, that is ice free, all year round, namely, Odessa. Currently, it only has one - Murmansk. All their other ports, are iced up from December to May. They've been trying to grab Odessa, since the Crimean war (1853).
Putin also wants, all those gas fields, in the Donetsk region. Shell was working on a joint venture with the Ukranian government. So, it's three quarters developed, already.

Sadly, there's hardly any protest, from Islamic world. Be it, predominantly Islamic nations (Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Sudan...), or groups (Hamas, Al Qaeda & the Taliban), little is said of Uyghurs/Xinjiang. Infact, many happily collaborate, with China.
Imagine if the US or British government, demolished mosques? No Fatwas/Jihads, have been proclaimed, for CCP actions in Xinjiang.

Several people in this thread, like jistin yernaw and A B, have suggested that America is not helping, because there nothing of economic value to plunder in Myanmar. This is completely wrong.
Myanmar has plenty of oil & gas. Myanmar has been an oil exporting nation, since the 1930's, when it was called Burma. Today, most of it's crude oil and gas, is piped directly to China, of course. The rest is refined in Myanmar, itself.
So, Myanmar is very important to China. The entire Chinese army and air force, is right next door to Myanmar. No expeditionary force, would be strong enough to deal with that kind of opposition. That's why the USA, or any other liberal democracy, has not taken any military action.

Afghanistan is quite a different situation. Loyalties there, are divided among many factions. In Myanmar, the crushing majority of the people, support the democratically elected, government, not the Chinese backed, generals, leading the coup. Your correlation is spurious. A better comparison would be Australia's involvement in Timorese independence.
China is expanding: Myanmar, South China Sea, Philippines Exclusive Economic Zone, Indonesian fishing grounds, Galwan Valley. Do you want to wait till they are on the edge of your own country? Then, when you need help, you will have the pleasure of hearing people in other liberal democracies saying, "...stay out of it."
China is fighting on all fronts. Just look at the replies to your comment. C M, is a well-known Wumau from the 50 cent army. He pretends to be Canadian. Look at all his/her past comments, though. Every single one, just happens to suite/support the long term strategic goals of the CCP.

Did you listen properly, to the narration?
1. This did not take place in "British courts", as you suggested.
2. This was not an official (i.e., government sponsored) inquiry.
3. This was a private, human rights group, that happened to hold its inquiry and presentation, at a facility in London.
Their goal is publicise their findings and influence general opinions and government policies. I am not saying they are right or wrong. However, as with some if you previous comments, you're in such a hurry to defend China, that you have misunderstood the true nature of events.
Calm down. Take a deep breath. Then watch the video, again.
Have good weekend!

@thephilosopherofculture4559 Your, original question, asked me to point out, “…to point out ONE actual and factual advantage of Brexit”, which I duly did. Instead of acknowledging that reality, you’ve tried to act as though your question was not about, “factual advantage”, but about morality. Unfortunately for you, I’m not fooled by your red herring.
You even tried to strengthen, this irrelevant issue, some virtue signal statement, implying your disapproval of the former, “English Empire”. There are problems with this:
1. I don’t subscribe to the illogical view that people are responsible for actions undertaken, before they were born.
2. Criticizing the British Empire is barking up a tree that’s already cut down.
3. Many other members of the EU, including the senior members, also have an imperial/colonial past. Some, even tried to regai those possessions, in the post war era.
But as I said, this is irrelevant to subject that you raised with me. You had asked, “…to point out ONE actual and factual advantage of Brexit”. I know you asked for, ONE, but I’m feeling generous and shall provide you with another. “Tell me why [Britain] should send more BILLIONS to the intensely corrupt countries of Italy and Greece”? If the words sound familiar, then this time, you’re actually correct.

@ЭЮЯ-о3к Nobody, is disputing that. You have rebutted a point that I did not make. The fact is Russua did a deal with Germany - 1939 Molotov Ribbentrop non-Agression Pact. Germany could start conquering parts of Europe, with the help of Russian oil. Meanwhile, Russia was free to invade Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, and Estonia.
Then afterwards, Germany turned on Russia. Only then, did Russia join the allied effort against Hitler. Before that, Russians were happy to carve up Europe, knowing that the Germans, would keep Britain and France, busy. Stalin, never expected France to fall so quickly.
This is not new information or secret information. Look it up, if you don't believe me.
You failed, bot.

Kitty Cat In 1979, China, very loudly, proclaimed, that it was going to punish Vietnam for its occupation of Cambodia, and restore the Khmer Rouge regime of Pol Pot. China and Pol Pot's government were allied. The PLA, outnumbered its opponents by 11 to one. China withdrew from the campaign, after a month. It declared that its objectives were achieved.
The world laughed, because:
1. The Vietnamese continued to occupy Cambodia for another decade. They did not leave till 1989/90. You can check - just ask the Cambodians.
2. Pol Pot was never restored to power. In fact, he was never able to return to Cambodia. He eventually died, in exile, in China. Countless sources will confirm this.
You don’t have to believe me, or anybody from China or Vietnam. Just ask a Cambodian people. Nobody in Cambodia ever remembers the PLA, reaching their country, or restoring Pol Pot’s government.
I challenge you to show me any proof, that the PLA was able to reach Cambodia, or restore the Khmer Rouge rule, or return Pol Pot to office. Show me the glorious photos of the PLA, marching down the streets of Phnom Penh.
You can’t.
China had to withdraw, because its losses in the first three weeks were excessive. Its tiny gains were a pyrrhic victory – an embarrassing campaign that will never be commemorated in China. China failed to support its ally. The world laughed.

@caris2k11 Correct! @Veryconfusedbywar has absolutely no idea. Australian company, Electro Optic Systems, have produced, "Slinger", an anti drone weapon. Slinger, is being exported, as I type. It costs, A$1.5 million per unit. The cost of taking down each drone is, A$155 to A$1,600. That's a fraction of the cost, of most other AA systems.
Ukraine has bought these, out of their own pocket. They're not a gifts or part of an Aussie, aid package. Ukraine, evaluated the latest, then chose Slingers.
Does our own navy or the ADF, have Slingers in their inventory. No.
PS: @Veryconfusedbywar, that's a highly appropriate name. Perhaps however, it's not wise, to flaunt your ignorance in writing and online.

@glennllewellyn7369 You said that the eastern part of Ukraine is predominantly Russian. Wrong. Australia, Canada, the USA, Jamaica, New Zealand, Trinidad ...etc., are full of people who speak English. That does not mean that those nations are therefore English or predominantly English. Get it?
So, no need to preface your statement with smug, sarcastic phrases like, "um, you do know that...", because you're not actually that bright. You made a stupid assumption and conflated separate concepts.

@collinmcalister6537 The Rohingya people firmly support the protesters in Myanmar. See for example: https://youtu.be/_XyOPrsM-B0
You will find many other sources to confirm this view, including sites operated by Rohingya people, themselves.
The Rohingya blame their suffering on the military, who they say, turned the Burmese people against them by feeding them false information. Again, you will find confirmation of this from Rohingya sites, or you can just contact Rohingya organisations yourself, if you don't believe me.
If the Rohingya themselves, can put aside the memories of those atrocities, for the sake of addressing the bigger problem, then perhaps we should do the same.

@HariHari-my7ez "just like your grandpa ... steal lands". No one is responsible for action taken, years before they were born. Illogical.
Conversely, we are discussing actions that Chinese people a currently undertaking. You are responsible for the things you do. You, could not find a defence for those actions. So instead, you tried to change the subject. You failed, Wumau.
Furthermore, what are you saying? Because his grandfather did something bad, it's OK for China to also do immoral things? It's a virtual admission, that China is doing something immoral. You better STFU, before the CCP, stick you on the list for organ donors.

@lunatikatlemans24h88 What a complicated way of saying, that you won't offer evidence, to back your claims. The Wikipedia articles, I have directed you to, have full bibliographies and are well footnoted. If there is something wrong with the evidence, or methodology, in either presentation, point it out.
You tried distracting me from you own, lack of evidence, but you failed. I still await your sources (rather than childish, emoticons). After all, I did say that I was keen to examine, any such material.

The system and culture, make it difficult to suggest a new plan. It would imply something wrong with current strategies and that associated actions (e.g., the sacrifices during lockdowns), had been pointless. It would suggest that the party had made mistakes.
Admitting errors, would cause too much loss of face. In such situations in the past, the CCP has responded by doubling down on existing efforts instead of changing course.
In the late 2000's, Australian PM (Kevin Rudd), made a speech, in which he briefly expressed concerns about the treatment of Tibetans. Over the next month, repression in Tibet was stepped up and many more people were arrested than usual. It's very childish behaviour, with tragic repercussions.

@mappingtheshit I don't care how, "stinky and dirty", India is. India doesn't cause me any problems. But look what China has given the world:
1957: Asian Flu from Guizhou.
2002: SARS
2012: H7N9
2019: Covid-19
... and the bigest of all,
1347: Bubonic Plague (aka the Black Death).
So, tell us,
General of your mom, your best reptilioid, why have these things come from China, and what should the world do about it? No, this is not a Rhetorical question, I actually want to know, what you think should be the response to all these Chinese diseases?

This suits China. Scores of countries have signed on with China's belt and road initiative. Now, with the economic slowdown, most of them will not be able to maintain their payments.
So, guess who then takes possession of all those road, rail, and port, facilities? This has already happened in Sri Lanka an Venezuela, and it's about to happen in Italy, Iran, and Turkey... and probably, many other places.

OK, what I mean is, there are only 60 million people in the UK, so the Conservatives would have only got about 20 million votes. On the other hand, China has over has over a billion people and among them, the CCP got... ? Oh yeah, I remember now! The CCP, was chosen to lead China, by people in Tiananmen Square. 😇

@smalfishfung Interesting. What portion of space launches, do these failures represent, for China and the US, respectively?
What portion of these accidents, for China and the US, involved the rocket exploding in low earth orbit (producing a significant problem with space junk)?
Without such details, your data has little value.
You also need to define, what you mean by US launches. Are you, for example, counting launches by private companies, like Space X? Some such launches, don't even take place, in the USA.
This year so far, more vehicles have been launched into space from New Zealand, than Russia. How does the NZ safety record, compare to that of China?

Yes. Diseases carried by Europeans, did have a devastating effect on native Americans, Australian Aboriginies, and others. These were diseases that entered human populations, by our close association with live stock (poultry, cattle, sheep, goats... etc.). During the period of our first contact with Neanderthals however, this type of animal husbandry had not yet developed. It is therefore doubtful, that Neanderthal demography, was radically altered by the action of diseases introduce by Cromagnons.

@Truthtellerhere666 Austalians, unlike Chinese, still seem to have plenty of electricity. Australia's Prime Minister, did not have to appear on TV, like Xi Jinping, asking his citizens not to waste food.
I believe that in Australia, food and electricity are regarded as, quite normal things to have. Australians probably take them for granted. Meanwhile, in China, this is nolonger the case.

@shroder2748 "... Through in some copper mines and oil fields that the US will invade in less than a month." Not Correct.

Not a rip-off, at all... but not a very good concept, either.
The Yak, in addition to its main engine, swiveling at the back, has two small engines at the front, to provide lifting thrust for the forward half of the plane, during vertical takeoff. Once in flight, these two engines, no longer have any purpose. They become a dead weight, seriously reducing the performance of the aircraft, in all respects: range, maneuverability, payload... etc. It also means, two additional engines to purchase and maintain. That's why it was always outclassed, by various NATO/US/Western, naval fighters of the day.
The British concept, made much more sense. I suspect, pride was the only reason that the Soviets/Russians continued with this design, instead of experimenting Hawker's layout.

From their skeletal remains, there is no evidence to suggest that lots of Neanderthals died in warfare. There are other theories, though that suggest our influence was negative.
To have had such muscular bodies, without going to the gym every day, it's believed that they needed to to consume large amounts of protein. Without any legume crops, this would have meant, eating lots of meat. So, the influx of many new hunters, who were smarter and had better technology, might have put a nutritional strain, on the Neanderthals.
It's just a theory, though.

@ОммнриГрошшо You still don't understand. Your complaint, was about media bias services, only showing Russian losses and not showing Ukraine's losses. Perhaps, I could explain it to you, by using a sporting analogy.
Imagine Andorra playing qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup. Its 1st leg results go like this:
Andorra 0: Russia 7
Andorra 0: Scotland 5
Andorra 0: Sweden 6
Andorra 0: Portugal 9...
Then, the return matches go like this:
Russia 0: Andorra 1 !!!
Scotland 8: Andorra 0
Sweden 5: Andorra 0
Portugal 9 : Andorra 0
The first match of the return leg (or 2nd round), naturally gets much more media attention, around the world. But then, someone complains about media bias against Russia. He/she says, "They only keep showing that Andorran goal against Russia. Why don't we see more of the many goals that Russia scored?"
Answer: Normal/predictable events, are less likely to be reported, than those that are unexpected.
I have not denied your claim of media bias. I am simply explaining the reason for it.

@jefferyroy2566 I was not replying to Monkey dog's original comment. I was elaborating on his/her 2nd comment in this thread (or at least what I thought was meant, by the 2nd comment). In other words, a more specific type of invasion, for territorial acquisition or conquest of an entire nation. Most recent conflicts, don't fall into this category.
I don't feel that the various military actions in Iraq, over the last 30 years, fit this category. It was not the intention of coalition partners, to acquire new territory or even take possession of oil reserves. I suspect their only goals were regime change, in order to keep the oil flowing and ensure the survival of political forces that were supportive of Western interests. The USA for example, was not seeking to make Iraq, their 51st state. So, along with scores of other conflicts, it was excluded from my list.
I agree with you though, that the Iraq operation was an extremely costly, shambles.

@EMP1RE917 Declaring war would be an admission that the previous strategy, was inadequate and a failure. Putin may be reluctant to do that.
Russia is a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO). Other members are Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia. If a country declares war on Russia, invades it, or attacks targets within Russia, the other members are obliged to support Russia. If Russia declares war though, she's on her own. That could be the reason, for calling the first phase a, Special Military Operation. Putin does not want to be seen as the first one to have declared war.
It's just my theory/suggestion. There are numerous holes in it, but it could be something along those lines.

@princesslovelorn7832 Vladimir Solovyov is a popular TV/Radio host, in Russia. He’s an ultra-nationalist and propagandist for Putin. Solovyov uses his air time, to vilify young Russian men, not serving. He calls them cowards, gays (still a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. His own sons though, are not serving, despite being of military age.
I am also highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It's normal for the sons of oligarchs & other Russian elites, to be "skipped", by drafting officers. The sons of Dimitry Peskov, are also not serving. It's not an egalitarian society.
I don't want those two lads to join the ranks... but I do want ordinary Russian to know, how they are being used by the “haves”. I also enjoy any discomfort felt by that self-righteous, opinionated, shock jock father of theirs.

It's often worse, for the lending institution. If a home owner can no longer make repayments, the lender aquires the property and the borrower is then discharged of further obligations. In the current situation however, the lending institution, may be taking possession of a property that is worth far less than the amount that was lent.
To make matters worse, we must also allow for, the falling influence of location. Covid has hastened our transition to an online existence. Location, has traditionally been the main factor in valuing any property. But, as more of us being to work, shop, learn, socialise, recreate... etc., online, location will become less relevant. Yet the value (and therefore, the location of a property) is currently the main form of security, utilised by lending institutions. This is particularly the case, in countries like China, where a large portion of the population, live in high rise apartments - i.e., people have sacrificed space and bunched themselves together, so that more of them can take advantage of a good location.

There are some exceptions to that rule. In 1983, for example, America invaded the Caribbean nation of Granada, to restore its, democratically elected, government.
The exercise was of no economic or strategic benefit, to the USA, at all. It was purely, altruistic behaviour.
I know that America, like most other countries, is usually motivated by economic, self interest. I'm just saying that occasionally, their actions spring from morality.

CHANG IN REAL ESTATE VALUE:
"Location", is the main factor, in valuing real estate. However, we're increasingly working, studying, shopping, researching, recreating... etc., on-line. Location is losing its significance.
At some time, Beijing accountants, secretaries, psychiatrist, designers, counsellors, authors, lawyers, tai chi instructors, tutors... and so on, will realise they can still work, from nicer locations. They'll cut the commuting hours, spend more time with their children, live in a cleaner safer place, breathe fresh air, have more space, pay off the mortgage sooner, and avoid all those security cameras. What will happen to big city property prices, then?
Each new generation, seems willing to do more things, online. I believe, a major reset is coming, in global property prices. Industrial locations, will not be affected much but commercial and residential property values, face a downward adjustment. In China, nearly everyone's nest egg, is a residential property.

In Australia and New Zealand, we wanted to serve. The cultural ties to Britain, were much stronger, then.
It was also in our economic interest, to defeat Germany. Nearly everything we exported, was to Britain or other parts of the Empire. Nearly every we imported, was from Britain or the rest of the Empire. An attack on Britain, was an attack on us, as well.
We were independent nations with our own, elected governments. So, we were not forced to help the British. We chose to be at their side.

@whitescar2 Thanks for your insights. Lots of experts here, criticising the US Navy, with their 20/20 hindsight. Conversely, you're quite right in saying that in 2001, we didn't know how to deal with the new, asymmetric threats, during the age of terror. Nor could we predict how prevalent these issues would be in the future. Never-the-less, one has to try to be prepared, for the worst. In this case this, things did not go as anticipated. It does not mean that the knowledge gained from this experience, is worthless.

@mooz01 Sorry. You’ve misunderstood. I do not want Solovyov's sons, to serve. It'll be better for them & Ukraine, if they stay out of it.

He calls them cowards, gay (a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. His own sons though, do not serve, despite being of military age.
So firstly, I’m calling out his hypocrisy regarding service. He’s also hypocritical in attacking gay men. Daniil (living overseas in 2022), is openly gay. Secondly, I'm highlighting the double standard in Russia. It's normal for the sons of Russian elites, to be, "missed", by army recruiting officers during mobilisation drives. It's not an egalitarian society.
Hope that clarifies things for you.

ME: Excuse me, Mr Putin. Do you think Russian forces will be able to capture Bakhmut, by the end of winter?
PUTIN: I feel very confident, that sometime soon, not long from now, in the not too distant future, very shortly, just around the corner, I will be in a position to issue, a definite, "maybe", on the subject.

@umpaipork4194 ... and China still couldn't beat them at the border. Pathetic. So, tell us, Umpaipor K, if "India is breaking up falling apart", why couldn't China, thrash the Indains at the border?
No, that's not a rhetorical question. I actually want to know, what you think went wrong, for China? How is it, that the Chinese, could not defeat a nation that is, "falling apart"?

@Dept246 The court did rule in favour of the Philippines , on most points. You can check, point by point, if you like and count them up. I never said that the Philippines, owns Scarborough Shoal, as you seem to imply. You have rebutted a point, that I did not make. I said that China is the only nation, that rejects the final ruling. That is a fact. It's what we expect from a country where most people were raised, as an only child. The court did not rule in favour of China, on any points, at all. The rest was deemed to be part of international waters.
As I stated earlier, PCA declared there was no evidence that China had historically exercised exclusive control over the waters or resources, hence there was "no legal basis for China to claim historic rights" over the nine-dash line. That ruling, encompasses all of China’s bogus claims, over atolls in the South China Sea, that it has built facilities on, in the last 50 years… and that, absolutely includes, Scarborough Shoal.

@jayrwickerman In your reply to @daniellebcooper7160, you stated, "What is wrong with treaty, truth telling and reparations?".
treaty – Who in this thread, has been fighting a war?
truth telling – What were they lies, that anyone in this thread, told?
Reparations – Should Lidia Thorpe, pay reparations? She calls herself, “a proud DjabWurrung Gunnai Gunditjmara woman”. Should she therefor pay reparations for the mass killing of Bunurong people, in the Warrowen massacre? Do you believe people are responsible for actions undertaken, several generation before they were born?
I am a migrant. So, on the subjects of, “…treaty, truth telling and reparations…”, please tell me what I am responsible for because, as a tax payer, you’ll be expecting me to fund it?
PS: My question re Lidia Thorpe, was not rhetorical. I would appreciate your answer to it, as there are literally thousands of similar cases. Some of them occurred quite recently.

@yellowtunes2756 Big difference. Solovyov uses his air time, to attack young Russian men, not serving. He calls them cowards, gays (still a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. Now, give me examples of Klitschko, doing that?
Klitschko’s sons are hiding abroad to avoid service. Solovyov’s sons are now back in Russia, yet they still don’t get conscripted into the service. There’s clearly a double standard in Russia. It’s like Orwell’s, Animal Farm, where the pigs were, “more equal”.

@astroayumi1752 Yes, it is China who supports the generals in Myanmar.
Don't believe, me? Just check the record of how China has voted in the UN security council. China has always used its veto, to save the military from any action against them that the UN can take. Presently, even the issuing of a simple statement of condemnation, by the UN, was repeatedly vetoed, by China.
Over the years, Russia has also chimed in with the occasional veto, to save the generals' regime. Over the last 30 years though, only one nation in the world, has been consistent in this course of action - China.
You can check the voting record of Security Council meetings, online. You can also verify China's voting history in the security council, by simply going to the nearest Chinese consulate or embassy and asking them. So, don't give me any of your pathetic excuses about the "MSM".
Come back when you have finished your homework.

I don't think China will conduct a major war in the conventional manor. It is far cheaper and less dangerous to use trade leverage, cyber warfare, and social media (i.e., influencing public opinion). If China started a "war" with your country, it would first use its massive army of hackers, to disable your nation's infrastructure. You'd wake up one morning to find that the TV stations are out, the power may be out, traffic lights have gone crazy, you can't access your account, your ISP is on the blink, public transport is not running (the ticketing system was hacked), your GPS is useless... etc.

There is a reason why, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea, reached prosperity, three decades before China. That reason is the CCP. Nobody else was in charge of China. Yet China is far better resourced than any other, East Asian, nation.
So instead, you keep comparing China's performance to India. LOL! As if that's going to impress anyone. You failed, Wumau.

@LordAlucard974 Democracies must support each other, against expansionistic authoritarianism. How many must fall before it's Australia's turn? I hope other democracies will support Australia, should it have armed conflict with China.
As for Australians presently suffering, I understand your point. There are many issues, crying out for government funds: health, education, welfare, the environment, the economy, research, the arts... and many more. If China achieves its goals, will Australians be better or worse off, in all the areas I mentioned?

@henli-rw5dw Nothing will save the current generation of young adults, in China. Mst of them, were raised as an only child. They're now expected, on their own, to support parents in their twilight years, and in some cases, grandparents as well. Yet many young adults are now jobless or employed on a, "flexible" basis. People in such a position, cannot afford to have children. The CCP is doing nothing to attract immigrants. So, I don't see how the demographic issue, "...can change easily...". Recent incentives to have 3 children, yielded insignificant returns.
Demographic decline, will put more downward pressure on property prices. Unfortunately, for many young adults in China, the family home is their only major asset... and so continues, the downward spiral.

@marcusr3795 @marcusr3795 True. However, in the age of dual income families, many kids in China have been raised by 4 grandparents. Even if not told they're special, the subconscious message is there. They're the focus of attention, for upto 6 adults.
Conversely, when they join the workforce and mortgage belt, they become, "...just another brick in the wall". Possibly, why some are choosing, not to take that step.
Your statement, re pension plan, status... etc., raises an interesting issue. How would Chinese parents/grandparents react, if the CCP wanted to send their only son, to serve in a war?

@Clem Fandango When I asked for the source, the question was sarcastic. It states, China Ministry of Commerce. It's your choice, to regard that as trustworthy information. Get it?
Furthermore:
1. That is a figure for the 1st quarter. We're already into the 3rd quarter. So, it doesn't take into account, the impact of recent events, like the lockdowns.
2. The figure is comparative. The rise is measured against the same period last year (i.e., the 1st quarter of 2021). Comparing the performance to a period when things were even worse, Covid wise (especially for trade, travel, & manufacturing), one should expect things to improve.
3. It's not a net figure. No measure was given on the amount of money, leaving China, in the same period. The Minustry of Commerce (that you choose to trust), is currently, very quiet on that subject. 😉
You failed again, Wumao.

@evgeniam685 Aww! You’re upset by my reply but had no answer to it. So, you tried to shift focus to another country, instead. You failed.
British Empire? Are you saying, because someone did something wrong, it OK for others to also be evil? That’s illogical and sick. As for past empires, no one is responsible for actions taken, before they were born. Conversely, one nation is practicing colonial expansion, right now. Who’s responsible for that? BTW, you’ve also just equated the invasion of Ukraine with British imperialism. Be careful. Uncle Vlad may be watching.
Lastly, why mention Britain or the West? Do you think I’m British, or from, “the West”? I’m not British, European, or North American. Too bad, huh?
2
-
@evgeniam685 “you absolutely didn't get my point why I mentioned British empire.”
LOL! Yes I did. It was your attempt to make me look like a hypocrite & feel guilty, by mentioning the B Empire. That’s why you wrote, “And you must be talking British empire, so make complaints about yourself.” Yup! Say it with me: “yourself”. Rather than admitting it, you then spun some nonsense about not getting the point… but without explaining “the point”, either. LOL!
I made a negative comment about R. So you thought I was some fanboy of, or from, the West. It’s that classic assumption that, ‘If he’s not 100% with me, then he must be against me’. That’s very broadminded of you.
BTW, you don’t need to tell me anything about the B Empire. My country was part of that Empire for about 4 generations. I am old enough to have been alive, when independence arrived.
Suggestion: when you’re in a hole, stop digging.

@peekaboopeekaboo1165 @peekaboo peekaboo Again, you are pretending to be be ignorant and hoping that others are, likewise.
You just completely ignored what was said earlier. The generals were about to lose their reserved, political powers because Syu Kyi's party had won sufficient electoral support, to effect constitutional change. So, if the generals wanted to hold on to their power, they had to use force and act quickly. China continues to shield these criminals, to keep their oil ang gas supply, flowing (among other things).
This evil, is in turn, firmly supported by people like you.
So, something good has come out of this conversation - you have learned what type of person, you really are.
2
-
@peekaboopeekaboo1165 Perhaps they just vote that way in the security council, so that Wumaus like you will have a job, defending those actions on line...LOL!
Tell me, what's it like to defend murderers, thieves, torcherers... etc? Do you get a kick out if it, or do you do it, just for the money, or are you acting under duress? Those are not, rhetorical questions. I genuinely want to know.
Does it annoy you in any way, to see China, behaving like the CIA, or does it make you feel proud? Judging by your earliest comment in this thread, it seems that you can call out the misdeeds of the latter, but remain silent, when the former does the same thing. That's racist.
You see, you are learning many things about yourself, in this chat.

@andia968 Ukraine, is a liberal democracy. Hence, it has the support of all liberal democratic nations, except one (India). The same is true, for the media organisation, in those countries.
When the Syrian government respects its own people and adopts the principles of liberal democracy, a free press, and independent judiciary, it might start getting some interest and support from the west. Poisoning its own people with Russian chemicals weapons, definitely helped to keep the regime in power. It did not make it very popular, though.

@saynotothegreatreset You wrote, "There's no oil, therefore americans are not interested..." That is wrong on both counts:
1. Myanmar has plenty of oil and gas. Some of the crude oil is piped directly to China (of course). The rest is refined into petroleum in Myanmar itself.
2. Yes, America is usually motivated by economic gain, but not always. The USA invaded Granada (1983) to restore their democratically elected government. There was no oil or gas in Granada, or anything of economic or strategic value to the US. In fact, Granada was drowning in debt. Significantly however, the military coup that had deposed the civilian government of Granada, did not have the firm support of another major power. The USA, had a free hand.
I am not saying that America is only a force for good, or that Americans never do bad things. I just feel that your assessment is simplistic.

@salokin3087 Yes, they are wrong. Now, the world economy is slowing down because of the Coronaviruus outbreak. Many nations, like Iran, Italy, Turkey... etc., will not be able to make their repayments. So, under the terms of the BRI agreements, China will now take possession of many, strategic rail, port, road, and energy, facilities. This is why China did not warn other nations earlier, about the the virus. This is why in February, it was still criticising travel ban policies and calling them an, "overreaction".
It also just happens, that China is the world's biggest, medical supplier.
This is an established, commercial practice. It's called, "vertical marketing". Look it up. Google it. It's very efficient.

Portugal has consulted with the rest of the world, on this issue, by presenting its case to the United Nations. China did not do this, for its territorial claims in the South China Sea. It simply built artificial islands in the region, much to the annoyance of the countries that currently border that sea.
Portugal is not obstructing, or objecting to, free navigation of its claim, by other countries. Conversely, China demands exclusive navigation rights, within its, nine dash claim.
You have made a spurious correlation. Why? Is because you were truly, ignorant of these differences, or were you deliberately trying to mislead people? That was not a rhetorical question. I actually want to know, what was your intention?

@MarkBranham-t2b It's not the sons, who we're laughing at. I'm happy for them not to serve. It'll be better for them & for Ukraine.
The opening phrase, should have told you that I'm addressing their dad. Solly uses taxpayer funded airtime, to vilify young men who are not in the ranks. He brands them as cowards, "effeminate" (hint, hint), & traitors. He even suggests $uiceyed, as their only honourable option. Meanwhile, his own sons of military age, have not enlisted. So, we're poking fun at his hypocrisy and country's, two tiered society, not the fact that the boys haven't joined up. Get it?

I think the most important factor, is Russia's economic stamina. Hits on Russia's economy will get worse and their Indian and Chinese friends, have only picked up about 35% of Russia's lost export income. Too many men, of working age, have left the country (taking some of their savings, with them). Just as many, have had to leave their jobs/businesses, to serve in the war. All the major nations (including China and India) have abandoned Putin's, much vaunted, MIR international payments system.
Russia's top economists, does not think it can take a few more months of this.
My concern, is that Putin will resort to WMD's, as he did in Syria.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I saw YouTube video today, on that subject. I won't include the URL, since it might cause my comment to be deleted. The exact title is, "Do rural Russians know why their kids are sent to Ukraine?"
There seems to be a huge division on this subject in Russia. Those who are younger, active online, and live in large cities, tend to be more suspicious of the, causus belli. Those who are older, not computer literate, &/or live in rural areas, tend to believe Putin's version of things. Let me know what you think of the video?

1. Changing the subject does not constitute a rebuttal. You failed, bot.
2. "...mobilization calls for all previous military personell [personnel]...". Then that applies to most men in Russia. You think I don't know about compulsory national service, in expansionist and aggressive, countries? Every male citizen in Russia, from 18 to 27, must complete 12 months of military service. Before 2008, it was 24 months. There are very few exemptions. So, 'all previous military personnel', means nearly every, able bodied, male. You just can't help, trying to be deceptive. You failed again, bot.

@espkh1549 Exactly. "...this is freedom." You said it. Can Australians own multiple properties in China? Enjoy your freedom while you are in Australia.
But prove to me that this is nothing special. The next time you're in China, visit Tiananmen Square, during the day, when there are lots of people there. Stand next to some, on duty, police officers. Then make a video of yourself, speaking to the crowd, about all the errors made by the CCP. Talk about Xi Jinping's lie. You know, that students shouldn't come to Australia because of all the violence against Chinese. Tell them about how your Melbourne experience has show this to be a gross exaggeration, at best. Tell how many other Chinese, have lived here happily, for several generations. While you're addressing the crowd, have someone record a video of it. Make sure the speech is at least 20 minutes long and that you speak as loudly as possible.
Then, immediately upload the video, to YouTube.
In the speech, you might also want to mention the CCP's racist inequality, that you just told me about. You know, owning multiple properties in Melbourne yet Australians can't own multiple properties in Beijing.
So, when we see your video, you will then have some credibility and we may resume our discussion.

@martingarve I did not remove your reply nor do I care much, for Russia. My comment history on this and similar channels, like Warthog Defence, Denys Davydov, or Professor Gerdes, displays full support for Ukraine.
My goal with these reminders to Solly, is to expose his hypocracy. He spends much of his airtime, attacking and vilifying, young Russian men who have not joined the ranks, during this SMO. Like other Russian elites though, his own sons (of military age) are not serving. Hence the jibe.
In reality, I do not want those two lads to join up. That would be better for them and for Ukraine. Apologies, if you misunderstood.

@gnosticbrian3980 Remind me how Russia aquired all the territory, east of the Urals?
Remind me how Russia aquired its current and former, Central Asian territories?
Remind me how Russia aquired Circassia and the Caucasus?
Remind me, which country in 1939, invaded Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Eastern Poland, and who they colluded with to achieve that?
Remind me which country, for over 20 years now, has bombarded its neighbours with tens of thousands of cyber attacks, every day. Remember the 2016 cyber attack that shut down an entire power grid, midwinter?
There is one nation, that continues to practice, expansionistic imperialism and its none of those you mentioned. It's been their policy, since Ivan the Terrible. That's nearly 500 years. Nevertheless, they're still at it, I type, in Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine.

Here on you tube, you can see many protests in countries like the UK, the USA, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Malaysia... etc. calling for action against Israel, because of it's campaign in Gaza. So, show me that you are true to your philosophy. In the comments section of a recent one of those videos, explain to everyone, that since Israel has never attacked their own nation, they are wrong to call for such action.
According to another philosophy of yours, since I answered your question, it's now 'your turn'.

@kenbehrens5778 Nice, but you skipped an important point. A large part of the area claimed by China, is regarded by the rest of the world, as international waters. Accordingly, everyone should have freedom of navigation, through those zones. China believes differently.
It is China, not the USA, that is at odds with the rest of the world. It's to be expected, from a nation, where most people were raised as an only child.
As for US involvement in the territorial dispute between the Philippines and China:
1. The Philippines is happy to have US assistance, in this matter. If you don't believe me, pick up your phone and ask people, there. If they want US assistance, that's their right and outsiders should not interfere.
2 The International Court of Arbitration has already ruled on the matter, in favour of the Philippines. Another fact you chose to exclude.

@CGplay186 Russians created their own problems. They signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact (or German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact), 23 Aug, 1939. So, while they Germans conquered Western Europe, Russians could:
1. Supply oil to the Nazis & made good money.
2 Was free to immediately invade Latvia, Eastern Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland.
So, first chance they got in 1990, these countries went their own way. Russia drove these countries into NATO's arms. It’s never apologised, for exploiting Eastern European economies, for 45 years (1945-90). It has not offered a cent, in compensation. It has never admitted to forcing, oppressive communist regimes, upon its neighbours. For the last 20 years, Russia has launched thousands of daily cyber-attacks on these neighbours. It's happening right now. If you don't believe me, pick up your phone and ask anyone in Finland, Romania, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Armenia... etc. Remember the cyber that brought down the Ukrainian electricity supply, in the winter of 2006? …and never forget the Holodomor!.

@ilguitaro @mario riccioni "... and what relevance does it have to the topic?" The topic raised by Kimbo was, "Russia showing its true colours".
I ask the same question, of your reply: "What's the relevance"? I have explained why the two examples of draft avoidence (Australia during the Vietnam war vs Russia today) are actually quite different. In other words, your comparison is spurious.
In Australia's case, there was disagreement on and objection to, the moral justification for the war. In Russia today, the overwhelming majority (including those being called up) have been in favour if the war. You are comparing an act of defiance with an act of cowardice.
Secondly, it is not true (as you claim) that anyone from any country would protest. During both world wars, few conscripts (or others) in Australia, protested. Likewise, with the Korean conflict. Even during the Vietnam War, those protesting conscription in Australia, were a minority. I fail to see how your comment is correct, or relevant.

@emmy5661 OK. Let's not repeat the mistake, this time Tell us how we should punish Russia?
Russia spent 45 years, punishing the people of Eastern Europe, forcing dictatorial communist regimes on them and pilfering their economies to prop up Soviet failures, and excesses (a nuclear arsenal, space exploration... etc.) They have never paid a cent in compensation or even apologised for their actions.
Worse still, they are still attacking them with constant incursions of air space, and tens of thousands of daily cyber attacks. Remember the 2006, Winter cyber attack that brought down the electricity grid in Ukraine? Nasty people. No wonder, so many of the former Soviet Republics went their separate ways. No wonder so many nations in Eastern Europe, joined NATO.
What do you proposed should be done with the latest, evil nation among us?

@TheAnonymousKnightOfJustice The US government does not gag the American press, with the same restrictions that the CCP applies to Chinese journalists. So, there are plenty of US & other western mainstream media services, publishing both the good & bad news, from America.
Conversely, Chinese media services, only publish the good news, from China. That practice, creates a gap in the market, filled by specialist channels like this one.
So, if you don't like it, talk to the CCP. Suggest that they start publishing a fuller picture of the situation in their country.
I doubt I've told you anything, that you did not already know.

@thalentekhuluse2829 "... But yeah... As always the..." the bot was too scared to answer the question. LOL!
You proclaimed, "We all know ya'll will be crying soon". A conveniently, broad statement. If a meteor landed on Berlin next month, you'd be able to say, "I told you so". In other words, you spouted more worthless, bot bs. So, here's a second chance. The questions were, "What's going to happen and when?". Maybe you can't answer the, "What". OK then, just tell us the when. We've been hearing these "predictions", for two and a half years but Russian forces now, are a lot further from Kyiv than they were, in Feb 2022.

@firetree2007 You wrote, “what you said is not true…” Well let’s see. In 1979, China proclaimed, very loudly that it was going to punish Vietnam for its occupation of Cambodia, and restore the Khmer Rouge regime of Pol Pot. China and Pol Pot's government were allied. When China withdrew from Vietnam, it declared that its objectives were achieved. But:
1. The Vietnamese continued to occupy Cambodia for another decade. They did not leave till 1979/80. You can check this. As you said, “simple google you will see”.
2. Pol Pot was never restored to power. In fact, he was never able to return to Cambodia. He eventually died, in exile, in China. “simple google you will see”.
3. You don’t have to believe me, or anybody from China or Vietnam. Just ask a Cambodian. Nobody in Cambodia ever remembers the PLA, reaching Cambodia, or restoring Pol Pot’s government. “simple google you will see”.
At least you now know that you have not been told the full truth.
You also stated, “what you said does not mean Indian army is better than Vietnam army, there is no logic in it”. There is certainly, "no logic in" your statement, either. I never mentioned India. Do you think I am Indian?

@mikhailvladislav8294 "Russia hasn't been doing anything to Ukrainians."
How about the Holodomor? Have Russians ever acknowledged that, or apologised, or offered a cent in compensation? Instead, they continue to bully. Every day, the nation's of Eastern Europe have to fend off, tens of thousands of cyber attacks, from Russia. One even managed to shut down a Ukranian power grid in the winter of 2006. Nice huh? If you don't believe me, just pick up the phone and ask anyone in Poland, Estonia, Romania, Finland, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia... etc.
"Before 2014 Russia and Ukraine were close allies."
The 'alliance' was forced upon Ukraine. If Russians had actually treated people fairly, no one would have left the Union in 1990. Get it?
You failed again, bot.

@romipenarik1888 The reasons given for the invasion were:
1. Eliminating Nazis
2. Capturing a bio-weapons lab
3. Preventing the advancement of NATO.
The first two have turned out to be complete bs.
As for the 3rd: ...
Russia made its own problems. …and never forget the Holodomor!
Russia drove these people, into NATO’s arms.
Treat them with respect and offer them genuine friendship. Don’t insult them (or us), with tales of saving the world from Neo-Nazis, Sadam’s weapons of mass destruction, or Ukrainian bio-weapon labs. If Russians had treated the other, Republics of the Soviet Union fairly, none of them would have left.

"...doesn't go around the planet bullying other countries...".
LOL! How did Russia acquire all those, "semi-autonimous", republics? Do you think they happily joined? What did Russia do in 1939 & 1940?
What has Russia been doing to its neighbours? For the last 20 years, it has bombarded them every day, with tens of thousands of cyber attacks. If you don't believe me, just pick up your phone and ask any one in Finland, Romania, Latvia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland... etc. When someone shuts down your main power grid, in the middle of winter (2016), it's not the action of an angel.

@BB-pw8ko Says a lot about how History Hit, has moulded its fans. On the YouTube channel Mosfilm, you'll find the greatest war film ever made, "Come and See". If you don't believe me, just spend 10 minutes of your life, looking at some of the 5,000 plus, comments. Yes. 5,000 plus!
Problem is, most History Hit viewers:
1. Lack the mental stamina, to follow a subtitled movie for 2 & a half, hours.
2. Don't believe that something outside of Hollywood or Britain, can be good.
If you read the comments though, almost everyone who saw, had never been so deeply moved by a film before or since. Yet, nearly every comment, is in English.

@rayc5674 LOL! Changing your tune. You implied that NATO's expansionism provoked Russia's response. Now you're saying, everyone is expansionists, in which case Russia has nothing to complain about.
No one, is forced to join NATO. Membership is not imposed by conquest, then validated by fake referenda. R caused the creation of NATO. It wasn't by coincidence that all those Central Asian Republics and Warsaw Pact members, left in 1991, as soon as they could. Nobody would have left and joined NATO, if R had treated others fairly.
Whinging about the British Empire, is barking up a tree that has already been cut down. Likewise for the rest of the EU. Get over it. No one, including you, is responsible for actions undertaken before they were born.
Conversely, this video concerns the actions of people, right now. Those people are still practising colonial expansionism, as they were, long before NATO was born. If anything, they caused the formation of NATO. Check the dates.
BTW, if greedy President T wants Greenland, then he's no better than Vlad P. It just means they're equally bad and you'll probably love them both.
1
-
@rayc5674 Aww! Poor baby didn't like it when the 480 year, on going history, was pointed out. Didn't like being told that the R is tge reason, others are still joining NATO. The best reply he/she could muster was, "your essay". LOL! That's so convincing.
But hey, you don't have to just take it from me. Pick up your phone and talk to people in Latvia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Poland, Estonia, Romania... etc. There's no law against it. It's much more than just my "essay"... and that really annoys you doesn't it.
1
-
@rayc5674 "...back a long way in history." Thee policy is ongoing. An inconvenient truth for some... unless they're also an expansionist, like President T (Greenland).
R's ongoing expansionism was the driving force for its installation of repressive, communist puppet regimes, across Eastern Europe. That in turn, spurred the creation of NATO. Russia has never given up on reviving its hegemony in the region. Disinformation campaigns and political interference, are small, compared to their other aggressive activities. Every day, for the last 25 years, the nations of Eastern Europe, the Baltic, and Central Asia, have been subjected to tens of thousands of cyber attacks. If you don't believe me, pick up your phone and ask people in Romania, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Czechia, Bulgaria... etc. It's not nice, having R's, shut down your power grid in midwinter, as happened to Romania and Ukraine (2016).
As for TDS - I love his domestic policies: deporting illegal immigrants (about time), ending DEI selections (only merit, should count), taking on China (long overdue). It's fabulous! His partnership with Putin however, is not good for America or the wider, democratic world. My appreciation of his domestic policies have not blinded to his shortcomings. I don't believe he's perfect and I encourage you, to entertain that possibility.

@account-21 Yemen, was not a democracy. When things were functioning normally, before the Houthis emerged, it was effectively, a one party state. The General People's Congress, controlled everything, including the press and the judiciary.
In a democracy, all voters are equal, including, women, gay people, people of different religions, and absolutely now hidden jizya, is collected. Was Yemen ever like that? No.
You failed, bot.

@danielgorog2646 You need to learn about how this type of oral poetry was constructed. Believe me, it's the key to the whole thing but it would take me several pages of text to explain how the formulas work.
Homer did not understand everything about the formulae he inherited and memorised, but stitched things into his composition that fitted the rythm and metre of the line, where necessary. In so doing, he included accurate information from eye witnesses, even though the knowledge and understanding of those things had been lost, for hundreds of years.
Archaeology has demostrated this aspect of the Iliad to be correct, many times. Every ancient historian, specialising in Homeric studies accepts this concept. They have used it often, to uncover important sites and to reconstruct Mycenean equipment.
To really understand, you'll need to read some detailed article(s) about how the composition worked. If you're still stuck after that, get back to me and maybe we could hook up a Skype chat.

@ДуджиМодульный
1. Russia has an export oriented economy. A high Ruble is not good. That's basic economics.
2. 14.5% is the figure I have for inflation in Russia. That's the 3rd worst out of all the G20 countries.
3. "Listen man, we don't have deficits (like USA)...". Why are you telling me about the US? Do you think I'm American? You failed, bot. By the way, wages growth in the USA, for the last 12 month, is 11.67%. It's well ahead of their inflation rate (8.6%), so they're not worse off. For the the same period, Russian wages have fallen by 7.2% while inflation has grown to double digit figures. You're worse off.
4. "we don't afraid of perspective to be frozen in winter (like Europe)...". Why are you telling me about Europe? Do you think I'm European? You failed again, bot.
For Russia, industrial output is down from last year (and the rate of decline is increasing). Retail sales are down, from last year. Interest rates are around 20%. Russia has the 3rd highest inflation rate, out of all the G20 countries.
In case you're wondering, I'm Australian. So, I'm not even in the northern hemisphere. I have no risk of being, "frozen in winter". Our economy fine. Check on Bloomberg, if you don't believe me.

Amazing! Your comment history, shows you are a firm supporter of the CCP. Yet here, you are advocating a different course of action, to what the party is pursuing. So, please tell us, why the CCP, is wrong in doing this?

@karenvecsei4217 There are no, pure blood Aboriginies, left. All are partly descended from invaders. Prove me wrong.
Furthermore, are you responsible for actions taken, before you were even born? I don't believe so but you clearly do. So, think about the compensation you own people, for any wrongs committed by your ancestors. Show us that you are willing to apply this principle to all, including yourself, by listing your direct ancestors, for us to investigate. Practice what you preach. Your idea should be applied to all, or none. The pigs are not more equal.

Kitty Cat I'm still waiting for a reply, after I debunked your lie - "after 1979 border war, Vietnam withdrew from Laos and Cambodia...". What's the matter Kitty Cat? Are you in a state of shock after realising that the CCP lied to you. LOL!😊🤣🙂😂😅😁😜😝
You actually wrote, "after 1979 border war, Vietnam withdrew from Laos and Cambodia...". LOL! You did not even know that Vietnam continued to occupy Cambodia, until 1990. That's right - the PLA, tried and failed, despite outnumbering the Vietnamese by 11 to 1.
Well, now you know. So, start thinking about all the other lies that the CCP have been telling, and how they've suckered you into, helping them.
1
-
Kitty Cat PS: I just thought I should mention, that I have kept screen shots of this discussion, just in case you're tempted to delete anything incriminating. It'll make an interesting post on Facebook, if you decide to employ the old Chinese trick, of making the evidence, disappear. You know, like that laughable bit, where wrote, "after 1979 border war, Vietnam withdrew from Laos and Cambodia...", without realising that the Vietnamese were still occupying Cambodia until 1990. LOL! Cos' that's the juicy part that proves to everyone, that the CCP lied to you (and you believed them🤣) . That they cover things up (like the Wuhan virus, and genocide in Xinjiang).
By the way, have you found and Cambodians yet, who remember being "rescued" in 1979 from the the Vietnamese, by China? Keep searching.

Kitty Cat "...Vietnam withdrew from the two countries..." LOL! You couldn't bring yourself to say, when that withdrawal took place. They Vietnamese left Cambodia in 1990. More than 10 years, after the PLA had pulled out of the conflict, in 1979.
Like I said, you can't find any source from Cambodia, that would say otherwise. That really hurts you, doesn't it?
Buy hey, I'm feeling generous. So, you have plenty of time, to find non-Chinese sources, to support your version of events.

@princesslovelorn7832 Vladimir Solovyov is a popular TV/Radio host, in Russia. He’s an ultra-nationalist & propagandist for Putin. Solovyov uses his air time, to frequently vilify young Russian men, not serving. He calls them cowards, gays (still a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. His own sons though, are not serving, despite being of military age.
So firstly, I’m calling out his hypocrisy regarding service. He’s also hypocritical in attacking gay men. It’s apparent that one of his sons (living overseas), is gay and very camp. He enjoys dressing up in extreme, feminine attire (bridal gowns, tutus… etc.). I don’t have a problem with that but surely it’s hypocritical for his father to be leading the anti-gay charge in Russia.
Secondly, I am highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It's normal for the sons of oligarchs & other Russian elites, to be "skipped", by drafting officers. For example, the sons of Dimitry Peskov, are also not serving. It's not an egalitarian society.
I don't want those two lads to join the ranks...but I do want ordinary Russian to know, how they are being used by the “haves”. I also enjoy any discomfort felt by that self-righteous, opinionated, shock jock father of theirs.

@JB-yb4wn He/she was commenting on a sign, welcoming refugees... who also arrive at airports. Refugees, are the only people, specifically referenced. No mention is made of others, commonly found at airports, e.g. baggage handlers, cabin crew, cleaners, immigration officers, customs inspectors, taxi operators, other passengers, aircraft maintenance staff, air traffic controllers... etc. Just refugees.
But certain people here, interpret it as a statement about military pilots. Are they paranoid, or deliberately trying to change the subject? Which category do you fit into?

NOT ENOUGH:
Sadly, I doubt it's the start of meaningful change, even if protests continue and a new government is born. The culture is corrupt, from top to bottom. Nearly everyone uses "connections", bribes, or coercion, to circumvent, due process.
As such, the benefits of regime change are transient. We saw that in the brief period of liberal democracy that following the USSR's demise. Eventually, it dissolves under pressure of culturally ingrained, corruption. Ultimately the new regime comprises those who've been best at corruption and bullying.

@carolwilliams8511 Ye s, there is merit in what say. I do feel though, that Russia's disastrous opening was more a function of underestimating the enemy and the task, as well as looking for the, "easy way" through. In subsequent months though, we saw Russia's steady gains, (Donetsk, Luhansk, Mariupol, Melitopol... etc.), as it employed its quantitative advantages. Russian advancement only slowed around July, as more of the foreign aid was fully integrated with Ukrainian forces... especially HIMARS.
If the orcs had had applied themselves from the start, as they did from May 2022 onwards, it would have been much harder for Ukraine.

The bots are completely correct. Nothing scary here. No one in Russia is afraid. No Russians are leaving the country. Airlines are just filling their planes with manikins. They are, after all, private companies. Their shareholders won't mind losing money.
No one is clogging up border processing points. It's all been faked, at great expense, by Finland, Serbia, Turkey, Mongolia... etc. Yes, apparently Serbs would do such a thing, despite being a Russian ally. So, they've completely faked the sudden arrival, of thousands of Russian men, of military age. Russians would never run like cowards. That's quite impossible.

Socialism is a ponzi scheme. If birthrate falls, nations must import people. So, governments start espousing the virtues of diversity, equality, & inclusiveness. Critics are:
1. Branded racist, "far right"... etc.
2. Soon outnumbered by, "imported voters".
REALITY: People have lost interested in marriage, with 3-5 children. Yet lefties keep apply funding models & policies, based on these outdated behaviours. People are moving, while leaders go the opposite way. So, the left is now, the conservative side of the equation.

@ЛенаУсманова-х4щ Nazis? Putin loves Nazis, like all his old friends at Russkii Obraz. It was so nice of him, to send Nikita Ivanov, in 2005, to rescue their thugs from the police station. He then turned a blind eye, to the online celebration of their racist killings, in the "documentary", Russian Resistance.
Look how well all those Nazis from Russkii Obraz are doing, in Putin’s Russia. People like, Dmitrii Steshin, Anna Trigga, and Andrei Gulyutin, have nice jobs now – in the media industry, of course. Even an American Nazi, like Rinaldo Nazzaro, gets to freely run his international Neo-Nazis organisation (The Base), from an apartment in St Petersburg.

But I really, really love the embarrassment they cause for their father, especially with the younger fellow's orientation and fondness for cross dressing. LOL! I enjoy any discomfort felt by that self-righteous, opinionated, shock jock father of theirs.
Have you read his biography on Wikipedia? The guy is very intelligent and highly educated. So, he knows all the propaganda is bs, but goes along with it, to further his career and bank account. Meanwhile, nice young lads are dying in the muddy trenches of Ukraine. So, please feel free repeat my reminders, on any other platforms that you think may be viewed by Russians.

QUESTION RE CREMATION:
When a skull like that is cremated, what happens to the gold, in the teeth? Is it still intact, after the process, or does it become indistinguishable from the rest of the ash?
If not, does it get "extracted" from the ashes? Who would it belong to, apart from the deceased? Would the BND have been entitled to it (perhaps to cover their costs)?
Is there anyone out there, familiar with the cremation process (and its effect on dental gold) and/or West German regulations, at the time.
PS: I'm definitely not after the gold. It's long gone in the sea, anyway. Am curious because gold was quite commonly used in dental work, in those days. So, this would have been a matter of consideration, for those in the cremation industry.

@andymoss2490 Yes, George always keeps up. Like when he quickly removed his video posted on the 11th/12th of September. Yet another one of his predictions embarrassingly failed within hours, when Ukraine retook heaps of territory.
What do you expect from an idiot who insisted, in the 22nd of Feb, 2022, that Russia would never invade Ukraine? Apparently, thoughts of an invasion were function of our prejudicial, brainwashed imaginations. That time though, it was too late to remove the evidence. The fool had posted it on Twitter. LOL! ... and you're one of his fans!!
By the way, you still haven't answered, my fairly easy, question.

@jennyfromtheblock.7153 I never said that I count on him.
The reality is, without prompting or incentives, he started the trade war with China. In 2017, he received much criticism for it and some even said it was racist. Now, nearly the whole free world has seen China for what it is and is continuing where Trump left off. Show me where you (or any of the critics in 2017) ever thanked him for getting that ball rolling? Show me where you or any of those other critics said, "Hey we're sorry. You were right about China, way back in 2017. We couldn't see it till after Covid."
No, we can't trust him... but people like you never credit him with anything, at all. I can't see him dropping the ball on China. That's his pet project because it's unfinished business. His ego can't allow that. So, those who watch China daily, hold a different view. For example, over on China Unscripted, they posted a video (17 hours ago) titled, "Trump’s Re-Election Could Cause Social Implosion in China". Have a look. There's merit in what you say but there's also merit in what they say.

Tvb Nut128 So, have you had time to do a little research about this, very real, war? You'll notice that because the PLA performed so badly, the 1979 campaign in Vietnam, is never mentioned by the CCP. That's why you didn't know about it.
Now, fast forward to 2020. The PLA and the Indian army, clashed in the Galwan Valley. Once again, the CCP has gone silent about the clash. No military funerals, no commemorative events, no campaign medals for the participants, or interviews with the wounded. So, can you guess what happened?
One thing is certain - a decade from now, if I mention this clash, in an online forum, some Wumaus will think I am making it up. That's because they would never have heard about it, before.
Don't be like them. Get your information from as many different sources, as possible.

@user-g5xnx7gjqb Russia invaded Finland, first. You were hoping I did not know that. You failed, bot. Finland faught back with help from some Swedish volunteers. Norway did not, as you claim, fight on the side of Germany, during WWII. It was invaded invaded by Germany in 1940.
The US is a member of NATO. It has facilities in Europe, at the invitation of other members, as does Britain and France. Some countries have friends. Others need to hire, Syrian mercenaries and Nazis (like Wagner Group).
This does not mean that the USA "occupies" Europe. Russia, also has bases in Georgia, Syria, Kazakhstan... etc. So, show me where you ever talked about Russia's occupation of such countries?
This is video about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It seems that the only answer you have, is to try and change the subject. You failed, bot.
WWII??? People are not responsible for actions undertaken generations before they were born. Conversely, this video is about the current actions of Russia. No one else is responsible for that. Get it?

@gobinlimbu8338 “..for whom that world were united to destroy them”.
No, not the world. Initially, Russians supported the Nazis. They signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact (or German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact), 23 Aug, 1939. So, while Germany attacked Western Europe, the Russia:
1. Supplied their oil & made good money.
2 Was free to immediately invade Latvia, Eastern Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland.
Nice, aren’t they?

“havent you wondered why aside from Europe and US, the rest of the world dont give a sh!t about Ukraine?”
Countries giving material and/or financial aid to Ukraine’s defence effort, include: Bahrain, South Korea, Brazil, Chile, Vietnam, Pakistan, Canada, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, New Zealand, Mongolia, Kuwait, Israel… etc. None of them are part of “Europe and US”. UN Resolution ES‑11/1, condemning Russia’s action, was supported by 140 countries. 35 Abstained, and only 5 (Belarus, Eritrea, North Korea, Russia, Syria) supported Russia and voted against it. Awww!
You failed again, bot.

Show me where I supported such actions in the Middle East? You can’t because I didn’t.

@可愛的豬鼻女孩菜菜子 You are right. China does not want it's neighbours to become like Afghanistan. It wants to totally control them, instead, like Tibet, or the Uyghurs, or the people in HK.
By the way, contrary to the claims in your other statement, China has indeed exported, "... war, hunger, and poverty". In the late 1970's, Beijing supported the disgusting regime of Pol Pot, that literally killed millions. Go and read about the, "Killing Fields", if you don't believe me.
In 1979, Pol Pot's rule ended, when Vietnam occupied Cambodia. China then announced to the world, that it was going to punish Vietnam, "liberate" Cambodia, and restore Pol Pot's government. After all, they were allies.
To do this, the PLA had to invaded Vietnam, first. After less than a month, the PLA withdrew, while announcing that they had 'achieved their objectives'. LOL! The Vietnamese had been too tough for them. The rest of the world laughed. Cambodia was never "liberated". Pol Pot died in exile, in China. He never saw Cambodia, again. Vietnam continued to occupy Cambodia for another decade.
Look it all up, if you don't believe me. It's in Wikipedia and on countless other sites.
The CCP has indeed, sponsored ,"...war, hunger and poverty"... and Wumaus like you, defend them. Disgusting!

In the post colonial era, the newly independent people learned that any socio-political system (e.g. socialism, fascism, communism, capitalism, liberal democracy, oligarch, monarchy) will not work if politicians and bureaucrats are corrupt.
When you need to fix a corrupt system, it sometimes helps bring in outsiders. The outsiders should be familiar with the local history, politics and culture, but should not have strong/recent ties the local people, to avoid bias and further corruption.
France is well placed for such a task.
I am not saying this will definitely work. However, things are extreme in Lebanon. Major factions don't trust each other, and people don't even trust those in their own factions.
The French are not perfect, but this might be the best option, in the short and medium term.

@yangleezhao5026 Is that why China lost, when it tried to invade Vietnam in 1979, to "liberate" Cambodia and return Pol Pot to power?
LOL! The Vietnamese were out gunned, and were outnumbered, 11 to one. The pathetic PLA, couldn't even reach Cambodia, let alone restore its ally, Poor Pot, to power. The Chinese had to withdraw after a month. What a joke. The 😅😊🤣😂😁😜🤪😆😛😝. The whole world watched and laughed.
The Vietnamese, continued to occupy Cambodia for another decade. Pol Pot, never returned to Cambodia. He died in exile, in China.

@hkfoo3333 "...China has every right to stop this even through the UN...". China's nuclear powered AND nuclear armed submarines, have been travelling within striking range of Australia for years. So, Australia, "... has every right to stop this." China has brought this upon itself.
Now, what were you saying about "double standard"?
Incidentally, show me where I said that China should not have the right to nuclear weapons and nuclear power? I never said that. You've imagined it. Same goes, for Iran and NK. Show me, anywhere, that I have stated that these countries, should be deprived of a nuclear capability? You've been rebutting a point that I did not make. That's the trouble with mouthing off, rote learned CCP nonsense. It's full of assumptions.
BTW, I'm very happy that you're annoyed. 🤣
"You already know that non nuclear power CANNOT HAVE NUCLEAR tech that can be used militarily." So, explain Brazil?

@IceBreaker.22 "...Imagine spending 20 years of your life with an occupation army from...
Imagine 45 years of your life, in Eastern Europe, living under repressive, Russian spawned, puppet regimes? Russia has never apologised, for exploiting Eastern European economies, (1945-90). It hasn’t offered a cent, in compensation.
You don't need to "Imagine" what it's like. Just ask your neighbours.

Using nukes in Ukraine, would draw worldwide antagonism. Conversely, if Putin used nukes because the motherland was invaded, no one would condemn him. That's why Ukraine can't enter Russian territory.
It's different for the Russian Volunteer Corp and the Legion of Freedom. They are Russians, and therefore, not invaders. Their country can't receive, Russian nuclear retaliation. Unfortunately, they are too few in number. Even if they combined with Wagner Group, they'd still be lacking an air force.
CONCLUSION: Russia does not have to spread its forces out, thinly. It can concentrate ground forces, in Ukraine.

@danquaylesitsspeltpotatoe8307 If there's no proof that spacecraft from elsewhere have visited us, then people in the USA, must be really stupid, to allow their air force to rip them off.
Former airmen, Jim Penniston and John Burroughs are currently having their medical treatment, paid for by the US Air Force. Both came into contact (yes, they touched it), with the outside of an alien spacecraft, while performing work duties, as instructed. Subsequently, both developed irregular heart beats and several other conditions.
For about 15 years, the Air Force refused to pay for their treatment, saying that the event never happened. This is despite there being other personnel who witnessed these events.
The Air Force still denies the event occurred. About 7 or 8 years ago though, they started paying for the treatment. So, US taxpayers are paying for compensation and treatment, of injuries/illness that resulted from an event that never occurred.
Since you agree with them that there's no evidence that alien spacecraft have visited us, you can now expose this waste of taxpayer's money. You can become hero to your fellow Americans.
Don't forget to upload a video, of your noble efforts, to YouTube. We want to see, your moment of triumph.

Furthermore, you latest attempt to distract me, has been unsuccessful. You still cannot bring yourself to say, where and when @rataranian made reference to a declaration of war.
Predictably, you failed again.

@mooz01 Woooosh! Everyone else understood.
1. I don't have kids.
2. I do not want Solovyov's sons, to serve. It'll be better for them and Ukraine, if they stay out of it.
3. In case you don’t know, Vladimir Solovyov is a TV/Radio host, in Russia. He’s an ultra-nationalist and propagandist for Putin. Solovyov uses his air time, to attack young Russian men, not serving. Secondly, I am highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It's normal for the sons of Russian elites, to be missed, by recent recruiting drives. It's not an egalitarian society.
Hope that clarifies things for you.

So firstly, I’m calling out his hypocrisy regarding service. He’s also hypocritical in attacking gay men. It’s apparent that Daniil (living overseas in 2022), is gay and very camp. He enjoys dressing up in extreme, feminine attire (bridal gowns, tutus… etc.).
Secondly, I am highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It's normal for the sons of Russian elites, to be missed, by recent recruiting drives. It's not an egalitarian society.
Hope that clarifies things for you.

@mooz01 You’ve misunderstood.
1. I don't have kids.
2. I do not want Solovyov's sons, to serve. It'll be better for them & Ukraine, if they stay out of it.

@Chris-hx3om As I said, you have to wait and see what comes out of the inquiry. It does not matter that the captain was in charge if, for example, crew members disobeyed orders, or mutinied, or were later found to be under the influence of drugs, or deliberately set out to commit an act of terror/vandalism.
The law you describe, also applies to aircraft. Yes, even if the President of the USA is aboard Air Force 1, it's true that the Captain is in charge, during the flight. No one however, has ascribed responsibility or any liability, for the 9/11 events, to the Captains of the planes involved. Your interpretation of the principle would mean that no sea captain could ever be exonerated by any inquiry into a shipping accident. Yet, exonerations have occurred.
So, let's wait until the facts are established. People in Australia, are innocent until proven guilty. Live with it.
PS: I am not saying that the Captain, in this case, has no liability. I'm just saying we should not decide such things, prior to the verdict.

@teeheehee9226 "...claiming that other governments are lying when your own government is just a very bad...". You have made an incorrect assumption about the sources I rely on, for economic data and analysis. I don't particularly trust Australian government data, either.
I find prefer to get such information from independent sources that are commercially accountable (i.e., they will lose money/subscriptions/clients, etc., if they publish, incorrect data or inaccurate forecasts). So, on the subject of current Australian economy, try for instance, Bloomberg:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-03/australian-economy-s-recovery-intensifies-on-household-spending
...or, more recently...
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-04-15/australia-unemployment-drops-to-5-6-as-recovery-strengthens
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-04-13/australia-recovery-strengthens-as-business-conditions-hit-record
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-04-14/australia-households-to-spur-growth-as-sentiment-at-11-year-high
https://www.bloombergquint.com/global-economics/australian-economy-s-recovery-intensifies-on-household-spending
Yes, some niches of the Australian economy have experienced significant downturns. If you apply the same principle though (i.e., get your data from a source that has to be accurate, of it will go out of business), you'll get a more sober report, that an emotional rant like, "...Beef producers and fisheries cannot find markets to sell into...". See for example:
https://www.lowyinstitute.org/the-interpreter/big-bark-small-bite-china-s-trade-coercion
I notice too, that your examples are somewhat selective. Australian exports of coal are currently higher than they were before China’s sanctions. We found a new market in the form of India’s, recovering economy. Our bumper barley crop, has almost entirely gone to Saudi Arabia and Mexico. Similarly successful diversions have occurred with timber and copper, though success was more moderate with cotton and seafood.
Other, up to date, and commercially accountable sources:

@borax92 Leader got his arse kicked when he tried to capture Kyiv. That was before the comedian started getting outside help. Truly embarrassing.
Since then, he's been changing laws, arresting critics, sacking generals, losing ships, getting sanctioned, watching men flee the country, seeing jobs lost, inflation rise, lost his biggest export earners, and he knows, this is just the start. We love watching all those cowards, leaving Russia and having to spend their life savings in other countries.
Thanks! 👍🏼

@Ralph_Baric_PhD_C2019 Infection rates and death rates, are very different things. As for the no vaccine "stopping" omicron or delta - none of the vaccines are meant 'stop', cases of Covid . Their aim, is to reduce the severity of the symptoms, thereby promoting survival. Hence my comment about death rate vs infection rate.
Example: I live in Australia, and am tripple vaccinated. I had Covid, two months ago (as did my 85 year old mother). Both of us had very mild symptoms. We were tested after a week of isolation and declared safe. I immediately returned to work.
The CCP, refuses to admit that China has used, a very ineffective vaccine. Saving face. Just a few days ago, they tried to obtain Moderna vaccines. Naturally they did not want to admit this to the Chinese people. They wanted Moderna to license them to manufacture it in China (and share the technology, of course), so that they could sell a re-branded, "Chinese" product. Moderna, wisely said, no.

"The fact is... ", China has already annoyed India. India and China have been having clashes, with or without, US involvement.
So, you are naturally worried now, that India and the USA, are having these talks. No one, is buying your argument, that the USA, wants India, to do its bidding.
Nice try at driving a wedge between the two allies. It didn't work though. We all know that your motivation is fear, not concern, for India.

@Akela25 Putin loves Nazis, like all his old friends at Russkii Obraz. It was so nice of him, to send Nikita Ivanov, in 2005, to rescue their thugs from the police station. He then turned a blind eye, to the online celebration of their racist killings, in the "documentary", Russian Resistance.
Look how well all those Nazis from R.O. are doing, in Putins Russia. People like, Dmitrii Steshin, Anna Trigga, and Andrei Gulyutin, have nice media careers. Even an American Nazi, like Rinaldo Nazzaro, gets to freely run his international Neo-Nazis organisation (The Base), from an apartment in St Petersburg.

SELECTIVE PRESENTATION, by Daniel Dos Santos:
He/she makes no mention of the hardships faced by Russia.
Russia has lost far more men than Ukraine. Bloomberg has published the immigration data from surrounding nations. Over 700,000 men, of military age have fled Russia. Additionally, a large but unpublished figure, are in hiding, within Russia. On top of that, are men lost in combat. The economic impact of that demographic loss alone, will be crippling.
Additionally, Russia has lost its major export markets. India an China, have not even been able to pick up, evev 20% of that slack.
Inflation is currently 13.5%. Putin has responded with the bizarre tactic of lowering interest rates. It's the opposite of what economists recommend. Only one country in the world has employed this strategy - Turkey. Need I say more?
Additionally, Russia's much vaunted alternative payment system, MIR, has been abandoned by all the major players, including China and India.
Sanctions have had a devastating effect on Russian industry. This is reflected in Russia's inability to replace, its high-tech weapons, and it's subsequent use of older weapon systems.
The Russian economy won't make it through the winter. That's the opinion of Vladislav Inozemtsev. He just happens to be the most respected economist in Russia, and the chief economic advisor to Vladimir Putin. Look it up. He bravely published his findings, about a day and a half ago.
I could go on, but you can all see what's happening here. What Daniel Dos Santos has stated, is mostly correct. Of greater importance though, are the things he/she chose not to say.
PS: His/her claim about diminishing enthusiasm from from Ukraine's allies is BS.

BOTS DON'T GET IT:
If a Japanese, American, or German vehicle has problems like this, the governments of those nations don't rush to remove associated videos, photos, eye witness reports... etc. Their journalist, are free to highlight these issues to consumers and regularly do so. In China, it's the reverse.
China has the 2nd biggest economy in the world. So, we need to know the news from there. The CCP though, only shows the good news. As such, it creates the market for channels like this.
In other words, the bias that bots ascribe to this channel, is driven by the bias of the CCP. So, if you really want to put this guy out of action, suggest to the CCP, that they stop hiding the the bad news... and don't forget to upload a video of your efforts, to YouTube. Lots of people will want to see the result.

Correct! Sold us out to China, so he could rush back to the voters and say he'd restored, trade relations... but he hasn't said what we conceded in return. Still won't tell us if he raised the subject of our navy divers getting their ear drums blasted, with Xi. More importantly, did you notice how he's quietly changed our tune on the CPTPP. It was founded as a counter measure to China's bullying in international trade. Naturally, like Japan and the US, we vetoed China's application for membership. Now, Albo says, 'we won't oppose it'.
When we began our case at the WTO, against China's bans on imports from Australia (2021), more than 60 countries declared their support for us. Now, Albo has to tell them, 'Thanks guys, but we've changed our mind'. I really don't know what planet @kevincrouch3956 & @josephgee143 are on.

@evilempire844 Oh, I see. The US & NATO did bad things. So, it's OK for Russia to also be evil.
That's illogical. Worse still, by equating it with those actions, you've just confirmed that what Russia is doing in Ukraine, is wrong. You failed bot. Be careful! Uncle Vlad may be watching.
Yes, England had, "former colonies". Conversely, Russia still clings to it's brutal acquisitions in Central Asia and keeps trying to expand. Imperial expansionists since Ivan the Terrible. That's nearly 500 years. Get it?
BTW, I'm not from a NATO country or North America, but I fully support the defence of Ukraine against greedy, colonialists, from from its east.

Interesting! You keep making the same mistake. So, for the benefit of those who may think that there is merit in your comment, I shall repeat my reply.
Burma has large oil reserves. Some of it is piped directly to China. The rest is refined, in Myanmar, into petroleum.
Obviously, by putting the "😁" emoji, at the end of your statement, you must have felt smart and cheeky. So, now that we know you are not so smart, what emoji should we use? That's not a rhetorical question. I actually want to know, what emoji do you think suits you, now that you have been shown to be ignorant?

@jayrwickerman In the 1990's, the Japanese government offered my community compensation for their actions, during the second world war. It was an astronomical figure, that equalled 6 billion US dollars, at the time and was to be coupled with a formal apology.
My brother wrote our reply to them, as an open letter, published in The Australia. We rejected their offer. The letter explained that it was unjust since those making the apology and funding the the compensation, were mostly people who were not even alive, when the terrible events took place. Instead, we asked that a fuller picture of the events of WWII, be included in their high school curriculum. They took a little over two decades to comply with our request but we are happy now. Get it?
BTW, please don't try and pull some BS over me with statements like, "No one is saying you have to pay as there is plenty of money for this." Just spell it out: who's money and how much?

@astroayumi1752 If my arguments are weak, yours’ are non-existent. You asked for verification (not that you’ve provided any proof for your assertions), outside the mainstream media – I gave it you in the form of China’s own voting recording. I gave you the means to verify that. Instead you have delivered an instant reply. You would not have had the time to go through that verification process. You did not bother. You failed, Wumau.
Now you try to change the subject, by mentioning the wrongs of others. That is totally irrelevant:
1. Why are you talking about the US, the UK, and Germany? Do you think I am American, British, or German? You Failed, Wumau.
2. You are implying that because another country has done some bad things, it’s OK for China to also do bad things. Illogical. You've just, inadvertently admitted that China is doing something bad. You’ve just lost the moral high ground. Instead of earing 50 cents and some social credit points, you've now earned a place, on the list of organ donors. You failed, Wumau.
Two wrongs don’t make a right. The US invasion of Iraq, does not justify China, shielding the generals while they kill people in Myanmar, daily. You are earning your money and social credit points by supporting murder. You are every bit as bad as the Americans, CCP members, Russian, and British. You failed, Wumau!

Peter Hendro We don't need to sell those things to anyone else. China is still buying them. They bring them in through the back door (e.g. Hong Kong). China is so corrupt, that you can achieve anything there, with a bribe. Even our lobster sales to China, are back up to 80% of what they were before the, so called, ban. We love your dishonesty... and profit by it. 😉
Don't believe me? Here's the latest from Bloomberg, itself: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-06-02/australia-s-gdp-exceeds-estimates-recouping-pandemic-losses . Read it and weep, Wumau.
1.4 billion people, against 26 million in a vassal state, and that's the best China could do?!?! 😛 🤪 😜
A bit different to the information the the CCP, feeds you, isn't it?
SUGGESTION: When you're in a hole, stop digging... 😉
1
-
1
-
Peter Hendro What would you expect, with 1.4 billion people? A lot more, actually. For about 35 years now, there have been more graduates in China, than the total number of people in the UK and France, combined! So, where are the thousands of great discoveries, and inventions? Where are the scores of Nobel laureates. China, is under performing, despite having 140 million graduates. Show me another country, with that many, university trained people? Despute this, internationally, China is better known for stealing technology, than producing it.
All you can do is quote CCP figures, that no independent body, will ever be allowed to verify. Your stats are worthless.
You failed again, Wumau.
So, I ask once more, why is China under performing? Is it because of corruption (from which Australia profits)? Is it because of genetic inferiority? Is it because of CCP mismanagement?
1
-
1
-
Peter Hendro You ask, "what kind of technology your country exporting...". How about the WIFI that you are using right now? You need to thank Dr John O'Sullivan, Dr Terry Percival, Diet Ostry, Graham Daniels, and John Deane, all from Australia's CSIRO. In 2012 they won their battle in US courts, for recognition of their invention. How many Chinese, depend on WIFI?
How about the 2005 Nobel Laureates for medicine, Robin Warren and Barry Marshall? In fact, have a look at a list of Nobel laureates categorised by country, like this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nobel_laureates_by_country
What do you notice? A tiny population like Australia's, out performs China. There are more people in Shanghai, than in all of Australia. Yet, Australia has produced more Nobel laureates. Loss of face????
So, I ask once more, why is China under performing? At least think about the question, this time, before spouting off some memorised answer.

Russians are boasting about actions that can only be described as, child abuse. I'll give you the exact titles of the YouTube videos, because including the URL, seems to get my reply, deleted:
1.
"MASS SURRENDER OF RUSSIAN TROOPS NEAR BACHMUT, RUSSIAN DEFENSE IS CRUMBLING || 2023"
Just watch from 4:09, onwards. In a country where media services are strictly controlled, this is the kind of blogger that enjoys freedom and a huge national following.
2.
"THE UKRAINIAN ARMED FORCES DESTROYED A RUSSIAN REFUELING BASE IN OCCUPIED LUHANSK || 2023"
Watch from 6:59 onwards. This is from a state funded, video. Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, is a politician in Putin's government. She made the video while acting in her capacity as, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights.
I would categorise these actions as, child abuse. Putin also knows that these children will be a useful bargaining chip, in future negotiations.
Tell me what you think, please?

@michaelamiller2829 'Provocation', is an understatement. Russia always wanted Eastern Europe, not just Ukraine. It used the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact (23 August 1939), to work with the Nazis, towards that goal. It was good money, supplying Nazis oil, while having a free hand to immediately invade, Latvia, Lithuania, East Poland, Estonia, and later, Finland. Russia never mentions this aggression or apologises for it. After the war, it promptly gobbled up Eastern Europe.
Russia has never apologised for the decades of exploitation, of Eastern European economies. It has not offered a cent, in compensation. It has never admitted to forcing, oppressive communist, puppet regimes, onto its neighbours. It has failed to convince anyone, that it’s not interested in re-establishing its former tyranny. As I type this response, Russia continues to launch, tens of thousands of cyber-attacks, every day, on its neighbours. If you don’t believe me, pick up your phone and ask anyone in, Romania, Estonia, Hungary, Finland, Poland, Latvia, Albania… etc. In 2016, one of the cyber attacks shut down a Ukrainian power grid, during the winter. The recent invasion just confirms European fears.
Russia brought these problems upon itself. Russians have been expansionist since the days of Ivan the Terrible. So, don’t come with your feigned ignorance, asking, “what kind of provocation are you talking about”? … or perhaps you really are ignorant. As you said, “I really like people who knows nothing about history making comments”.

@AwakenedWookie Wrong. Try telling that to people in Georgia or Armenia.
Russians have been expansionists sine the days of Ivan the Terrible. All those Central Asian Republics became part of the Union by conquest.
Russia always wanted Eastern Europe. It used the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact with Nazi Germany (23 August 1939), to have a free hand hand to immediately invade, Latvia, Lithuania, East Poland, Estonia, and later, Finland.
After the WWII, it promptly installed oppressive communist puppet regimes, across Eastern Europe and plundered the economies of those nations. Russia has never apologised for the decades of exploitation. It has not offered a cent, in compensation. It won't even admit such things happened. For more thane 20 years now, Russia continues to launch, tens of thousands of cyber-attacks, every day, on its neighbours. If you don’t believe me, pick up your phone and ask anyone in, Romania, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Hungary, Armenia, Finland, Poland, Latvia, Albania… etc. In 2016, one of the cyber attacks shut down a Ukrainian power grid, during the winter. But for you, that's probably OK because Russia, "...never left it's borders."
Russia drove these countries into NATO's arms. Don't feel sorry for them.

@davidnoelfranks1124 Putin loves Nazis, like all his old friends at Russkii Obraz.

@ALS_AustNZ Australia is not facing economic meltdown or a banking collapse. We are not about to uncover, decades of hidden, local government debt, or that hundreds of billions have been stashed overseas, by politicians. We are not facing population decline. We are never short of migrant applications, nor do we have to force people to stay.
Ultimately, our leaders need our votes. I doubt that the rise in inflation and interest rates, is intentional. Yes, we will be experiencing tougher times, as we did in 1982/83 and again in 1990. I do no not feel though, that comparisons to the Chinese descent into dystopian chaos, are accurate or helpful.

@Yae-Miko216 Growp and stop acting like a spoilt, only child. My country was also conquered by the Japanese. Many people from my extended family, died at their hands. Some were tortured to death. Some were worked to death on the Burma Railway. One was even buried alive, as a warning to others.
The one time we were offered any apology and US $16 billion compensation, in 1992, we told Japan to keep both. My brother expressed our feelings in an open letter, published in the newspaper. It explained the there was no point in receiving such things from people who were not even alive, when the war took place. Get it?
That's a logical and mature attitude. So, grow spine, act like an adult, and stop swallowing propaganda from a government who's desperate to distract you from its own corruption and failures.

1. Are you saying, because someone did something wrong, it OK for others to also be evil? That’s illogical and sick. You failed again, botov.
2. No one is responsible for actions undertaken, before they were born. Conversely, one nation is practicing colonial expansions, right now, So, guess who’s responsible? You failed, again, botkovic.
3. You’ve just equated the invasion of Ukraine with British imperialism. Be careful. Uncle Vlad may be watching. You failed again, botinin.
4. Why mention Britain or the West? Do you think I’m British, or from “the West”? I’m not British, European, or North American. You failed again, botchev.

The British Empire? Are you saying, because someone did something wrong, it OK for others to also be evil? That’s illogical & sick. You’ve also, just equated the invasion of Ukraine with British imperialism. Be careful. Uncle Vlad may be watching. As for past empires, no one is responsible for actions undertaken, before they were born. Conversely, one nation is practicing colonial expansions, right now, Who’s responsible for that?
BTW, why mention Britain or the West? Do you think I’m British, or from “the West”? I’m not British, European, or North American. Too bad, huh?
1
-
@evgeniam685 “you absolutely didn't get my point why I mentioned British empire.”
LOL! Yes I did. It was your feeble attempt to make me look like a hypocrite and feel guilty, by mentioning the B Empire. That’s why you wrote, “And you must be talking British empire, so make complaints about yourself.” Yup! Say it with me: “yourself”. However, you won't admit it. Hence the laughable bs about not getting the point… but then not explaining “the point”, either.
I made a negative comment about R, so you thought I was some fanboy of, or from, the West. It’s that classic assumption that, ‘If he’s not 100% with me, then he must be against me’. That’s very broadminded of you. LOL!
BTW, you don’t need to tell me anything about the B Empire. My country was part of that Empire for about 4 generations. I am old enough to have been alive, when independence arrived.
I’ve enjoyed watching you squirm but here’s a genuine suggestion: when you’re in a hole, stop digging.

@colinobrien3806 WOOOSH!!
We (i.e., the OP and I) are being sarcastic.
When Ukrainians have struck, key targets during this war, Russian news services have been keen to downplay their opponent's ingenuity. Instead, they've been reporting that any explosion/fire causing major damage was caused by something non-Ukrainian, e.g., a carelessly tossed, cigarette but. When drones were involved, Russian news services are reluctant to admit any inadequacies in the Motherland's air defences. So, they falsely report that all drones were shot down, but unfortunately, some of the debris from a destroyed drone, fell on the target and caused the catastrophic damage.
Hope that clears thing up for you.

@manickn6819 Germany's gas reserves, presently cover them till early March 2023, if they follow usual winter usage patterns. If they are frugal, it may be stretched, till late March.
They also have the capacity, to convert LNG, back to gas. Germany has always maintained two such plants, that they have since taken out of "mothballs". It's much harder though, for landlocked nations, like Austria, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein... but they're not members of NATO. I don't think it was wise of Putin, to upset these non-member countries, but he probably has information that I don't.

0:58 Not a word from the 50 cent army bots, or the leftist, SJW's about these people being beaten up. If it was a white police officer, doing this to a black American, they would be posting thousands of comments. When the perpetrator is brown however, they STFU.
That is what I call, a race based, selection process, for outrage. In other words, SJW's, ANTIFA, and the 50 cent army, are racist.

I lived in NZ, in the early 70's, when it was still a highly protected market. Food and housing were very affordable. Other things though, were incredibly expensive (e.g. consumer goods) because of government tarrifs. There was a huge market for second hand goods. Most families could only buy a second hand car. Our car, fridge, washing machine... etc., were all seconds, and my dad was a doctor! In real terms, clothing would have been 2-3 times the price it is now. There was also a plethora of regulations in place, to prevent foreign producers, gaining a foothold in the NZ market. For example, you could only get margarine, with a doctor's prescription, from the pharmacist. Tax payers had to pay for that administration, as well.
It had its pros and cons, but I'm not sure that younger Kiwis (i.e., anyone less than 55 years old), would accept the price hike, in consumer goods.

@vergeREVO It would help to have our own, dedicated cyber forces, to bombard their sites/channels, propagandists, and shills, in the same manner. Unfortunately, the country best placed to do that, happens to be the only democracy that's friendly with Russia, i.e., India. Nevertheless, it's what the liberal democracies need to do.
In China it is even part of the school curriculum. Children are taught in school, how to report complaints, against sites, videos, individuals, posts... etc, that contradict, Chinese propaganda and orthodox beliefs.

@Mbabz1957 In case you don’t know, Vladimir Solovyov is a popular TV/Radio host, in Russia. He’s an ultra-nationalist and propagandist for Putin. Solovyov uses his air time, to pour scorn on young Russian men, not serving. He calls them cowards, gays (still a crime in Russia), traitors and suggested suicide as their only honourable option. His own sons though, are not serving, despite being of military age.
So firstly, I’m calling out his hypocrisy regarding service. He’s also hypocritical in attacking gay men. It’s apparent that Daniil (living overseas), is gay and very camp. He enjoys dressing up in extreme, feminine attire (bridal gowns, tutus… etc.).
Secondly, I am highlighting the two tiered aspect of Russian society. It was normal for the sons of oligarchs & other Russian elites, to be missed, by recent recruiting drives. It's not an egalitarian society.
I don't want Daniil & Alexander to join the ranks. Better for them and Ukraine. But I do want ordinary Russian to know, how they are being used by the “haves”. I also enjoy any discomfort felt by that self-righteous, opinionated, shock jock.

Come on, Victorians! Do it! These hypocrites love shaming others for not saying sorry. So, there should be no complaints from lefties. Any objections should be answered with "So, can't you say, sorry?"

Wardog Fights 2019 Was part of an Aussie production team making a series of documentaries in China. Joint venture with 2 Chinese companies. Were told by our Chinese counterparts, that since various sections of the unit would be constantly there over an extended period, it was better to purchase 2 apartments. When the first part of the unit went there in May 2019, it turned out to be one of many things that were false.
On each occasion, when something promised turned out to be not possible, someone local would later contact them, saying that there were ways around it, for a price. No thanks.
In June, one of the Chinese companies, stopped returning their calls. Two of our crew eventually went to their office. No one was there, so they waited. About 2 hours later, the police showed up! The 2 team members were detained, without explanation, and had to hand over their passports. They were then made to wait in the police station for about 7 hours before getting their passports back and being told they could go. Again, no explanation given. The crew left China the next day.
Such nice people.
That company still has not returned their calls. Such nice people.

@koushikdas9441 1. I'm not Indian.
2. With statements like, "...middle class/lower middle class children don't have support to pay a good school fees..." and "Indian politics is ruining India.", you might be one of those 50 cent Wumao's, pretending to be Indian, but subtly sowing seeds of doubt about India itself. However, I'll give you the benefit of doubt.
3. It doesn't matter what your politics are, or how much faith you have (or don't have), in your politicians, to enact my suggestion. It's something you are free to do, irrespective of how your leaders behave.
In summary, you can go ahead and do what ever you think is necessary to reform/improve India. It won't stop you from also taking up my suggestion.

@oscarchute5702 "Western intervention... caused the death of 500, 000 people...". So that makes it OK for China, to fund the killing of people in Burma (& Xinjiang, Mongolia, HK... etc.)?
Nice try at changing the subject, from what was presented in the video but it didn't work, Wumau.
In fact, you've inadvertently confirmed that China prosecutes its foreign policy ambitions, in the same way as the western nations.
No 50 cents or social credit points, for this Wumau. Instead, you might get a place on the list, for organ donors.

M. Pompeo Nobody, except China & Russia, holds the view that the government of Venezuela, won a free and fair election, or that the Assad regime, had the popular support of Syrian people.
Chinese support for Maduro, has created a socio-economic basket case, and nation of hungry, unemployed people. Now, China wants to do this in, in Myanmar.

Like how you, "TOTALLY ignored !" the vast supplies that other allies provided for the Soviet effort. Don't forget, the security and oil that the USSR provided for Germany, through the Molotov/Ribbentrop Pact. Stalin even provided a destroyer escort, for a German sub, carrying technology to Japan. At that time, Britain was alone in the fight against German. Perhaps you TOTALLY forgot?
Albert Speer thought differently to you, about the pre D-Day effort, in the West. From his perspective as German Armaments Minister, British/US bombing by mid 1943, was as big an industrial & economic drain on Germany, as the war on the Eastern front. After that, it only got much worse. You TOTALLY ignored that.
Furthermore, what assistance did the USSR offer the other allies, in their struggle against Japan or the campaigns in North Africa, or the Battle of the Atlantic? Meanwhile, the other allies were also providing vital supplies, for China's defence against Japan.

1. Sky News neither hide deny, their right wing bias. They actually give reasons for it.
2. Private organisations a free to invest their time/money, as they see fit, provided they operate within the law. If you feel such specific strategic decisions should be controlled, you need to be reminded that communism and nazism have been tried before. They both failed.
3, The ABC is a tax payer funded entity. Funding is meant to be dependent on their adherence to their charter. The charter commits them to a more, non-biased approach than what they've been practising.
4. The ABC claims to practice principles of inclusiveness and that it tries to be representative of the wider Australian community. It needs to then demonstrate this, in its journalistic and editorial stance, otherwise their wasting my money.
The sad part is, I doubt I've told you anything, that you did not already know. So, think before you type.

@MrHarmonicminor Can't undo what was done in the past, but you can make wiser choices, from now on. "...throw away...", as you suggested, is exactly what China wants you to do. Then you'll have to buy the next model that China produces. So, repair, re-use, buy second hand, go without... etc., for as long as you can. Some countries, like Japan, are already paying their companies, to shift manufacturing, out of China.
I'm sure I have not told you anything that you did not already know. You just need to think before you type... 😉

@waitingforanalibi2224 "So, from what I understand..." you must believe that Ukrainians were responsible for filling it to a record level, to maximise the devastation to their own infrastructure, people, assets and animals.
How'd they do it? Ukrainians snuck past all the guards, staff & security cameras, to the heart of the dam but no Orcs noticed. Ukrainians closed the sluces but no Orcs noticed. The sluces stayed shut for weeks but no Orcs noticed. The water rose to a record height but still, no Orcs noticed!
Such incompetence! Do you think it's genetic, or too much vodka, or widespread bipolar disorder, or what?!?!

@MarkBranham-t2b Wooosh! It's not the sons, who we're laughing at. I'm happy for them not to serve. It'll be better for them & for Ukraine.
Everyone else understood, except you, botski. The phrase, "Hullo, Mr Solovyov", should have told you that I'm making fun of their father. Solly uses taxpayer funded airtime, to vilify young men who are not in the ranks. He brands them as cowards, gey$ (still a big no-no, over there) & traitors. He even suggests $uiceyed, as their only honourable option. Meanwhile, his own sons of military age, have not enlisted. So, we're poking fun at his hypocrisy and country's, two tiered society, not the fact that the boys haven't joined up. Get it?

"...nothing monetary to gain," Not quite.
Myanmar has plenty of oil & gas. Myanmar has been an oil exporting nation, since the 1930's, when it was called Burma. Today, most of it's crude oil and gas, is piped directly to China, of course. So, Myanmar is important to China.
The entire Chinese army and air force, is right next door to Myanmar. No expeditionary force, would be strong enough to deal with that kind of opposition. That's why the USA, or any other liberal democracy, has not taken any military action.

@80sGuy. "...love to watch the clowns and they're fooking hilarious!". The problem with that claim, is that it is at odds, with your other comments. Look at the frustration and hate, in a comment like, "Palk(!), please I can smell your stench from 8,000 miles away." So, tough luck. I'm not fooled.
Despite your effort to show otherwise, my initial interpretation was correct. You hate her and the articles she presents. Unfortunately, you haven't been smart enough to realise, that all you need to do, to stop the pain and frustration, is watch something else. Perhaps you could come back to this discussion, when you have completed primary school.

@basshunterdota625 So? We've been through massive rises and falls in commodity prices, but still done very nicely, thanks. That annoys a Wumao China lad, like you, doesn't it. Yes, thats what you are.
As for lack of innovation, one really expects more from a country with 140 million graduates. That's more than the combined total population of Britain & Spain, or Germany & Italy. It's been such, for nearly 30 years. So where are all the amazing discoveries, the Nobel laureates and brilliant inventions? Instead, China is famous, for its dependence on stealing technology.
With your aging population, you're labour becomes more expensive. Companies are leaving China. You're supposed to transition to knowledge intensive, value added industries (e.g. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan). But your graduates are lousy. You're heading for the middle income trap (Philippines, Brazil, South Africa).
There a plenty of nations that are well resourced and export raw commodities but are still poor (Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar) because they're run by corrupt leaders. That's the difference between them and Australia. We make sure our leaders, work for us. Have a guess which style of leadership runs China?
So, enjoy your slow but steady slide, down the Argentine road and your new, "flexible" employment.

@tkw3864 Correct. Those that inhabit the islands (having done so for up to 7 generations), wish to remain part of Britain. Whatever grievance others may have, nobody (including the islanders) should be accountable for actions undertaken, several generations before they were even born. That is illogical nonsense.
Nevertheless, without consulting the Falkland Islanders, China has raised the issue with the UN. I doubt there'll ever be any acknowledgement, let alone apology, for this blatant disregard of the locals.
A for me, I maintain that this issue and others we have discussed, have nothing to do with the CCP's socio-economic mismanagement, that precipitated China's real estate crisis. Get it?

@Outdoorcookwarereviews @DDD MMM @DDD MMM I am aboriginal (on my father's side) and am thoroughly enjoying making a fool out of you.
You failed again, Wumao.
Nor have you succeded in distracting me from the subject of this video - China's greedy, colonialist expansionism, and your support of such things.
You failed again, Wumau.
Exploiting the natives is an old Chinese tradition. Like the voyages of Zhang He - sailing by South East Asia, and India, always demanding vast sums of tribute, for the "treasure ships". Have you ever spared a thought for the people left in their wake? You know, the ones who were bankrupted or starved to death. According to your own logic, you are somehow responsible for that and if you don't start paying compensation, it means that you still have the same, "... mindset...".
You failed again, Wumau. No social credit points for you. Instead, you'll be earning a place on the list for organ donors... 😘😅😉🤣🙃😁😂😊😄😇😃😝😄😆🤪😛
I'll know if I get a reply from you, that it's a different Wumau, assigned to the name of, DDD MMM. Have fun in hospital! 😉

@Outdoorcookwarereviews You say they are just as corrupt as any other human system. A step in the right direction, Wumau. But simply saying, "...any other human system...", includes Chinese systems. There in, lies the the problem. A racist like you, refuses to give examples of this corruption in Chinese systems. A CVO lapdog like you, will especially avoid mentioning such examples in current, Chinese systems.
You also can't help forcing your beliefs on others, by silencing dissenting voices; for example, "... no need to respond..." You failed again, Wumao.
But hey, prove me wrong! Show me that really do believe in the corruptive nature of human systems, by giving me some Chinese examples. You did say, "any... human system". That would also prove that you are not a racist (or perhaps you don't believe that Chinese people should be categorised as human?).

@Jerry-tq9et Do you honestly think, that turning off the electricity in the middle of a Chinese winter, is not going to result in the deaths among the very people that the CCP (and a Wumoa like you), claim to be serving? I guess it doesn't matter as long as Xi Jinping, saves face.
Nice try at changing the subject (Afghanistan and Aboriginal Australians). Tough. You failed.
What are you saying? Are you claiming that because Australia has done something bad, it's OK for China to do bad things as well?
Wow!
1. You've just inadvertently admitted, that China is doing something bad. Congratulations. Instead of earning social credit points, you've earned yourself a spot on the list for organ donors... 🤣
2. You've just demonstrated an ability to spot immorality in others but not in Chinese. In other words, you're a racist. The strange thing is however (though I can't prove it), I get the feeling that you actually consider yourself to be, "broad minded".
1
-
@Jerry-tq9et Mr Wumoa, the video was about China. You cannot bring yourself to say anything critical of the Chinese. Instead, you keep trying to change the subject by talking about the faults in others. That is why you are racist. You can only point out the faults, in non-Chinese . Tough. I'm not falling for your red herrings.
But hey, prove me wrong. Let's see you give a critique of the events surrounding the cultural revolution and the slaughter in Tiananmen Square, and here from you, what inhumane "mistakes", you think the CCP made... or will you just tow the party line, and blame others or give excuses.
By the way, has it been enlightening, to find out that you are racist?

@jjia796 Check what, you ask? You wrote, "That's because Christmas is coming and western countries need our products". Wrong. Christmas has well and truly, passed. You can check. I'll wait.
For people to have completed their Chistmas shopping, by Chistmas Eve, those products would have been made and shipped, weeks ago. So, no, we don't need those products because Christmas is over.
But don't believe me, that it's over. Check for yourself. That's what I meant when I wrote, "You can check. I'll wait." But I'm sure you know that already. You just didn't want to admit to making an I'll conceived, statement.
So go ahead and look at the dates. Christmas was three days ago.
You're not very bright, are you?

Frankly, I believe China's aim, is to continue supplying Russia with just enough to keep the war going. It's in China's interest to slowly bleed Russia dry. China wants those oil/gas reserves, that arable land, and the port of Vladivostok.
Furthermore, China's bid to join the club of, "Near Arctic Nations" (and have a say in things when the northern icecap melts), was rejected. Gaining some Arctic territory, would solve their admission issue.
Finally, Russia offers a partial solution to one of China's demographic challenges. Russia's female surplus, is increasing as the war continues. Meanwhile, China's female shortage, will leave millions of young Chinese men, brideless. China wants those women.

@JaneSoole It's not just Putin. Russia has always covetted Eastern Europe, including the Balkan & Baltic states. It used the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact (August 1939) to commence its conquests. While their German allies swept across Western Europe, Russia immediately invaded Eastern Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. A year later, they invaded Finland and Romania. After the war, they promptly installed, puppet communist regimes, across Eastern Europe, and plundered those economies.
This is how a nation with such a low GDP per capita, could sustain a huge nuclear arsenal, a large navy, and space programme. They want that cash cow back.
Russians have been expansionists, since the days of Ivan the Terrible. Putin's greed, is nothing new.

@papabear90 Go and show that first sentence, to the best English speaker that you know. Don't show him/her the rest of the paragraph. Just the first sentence. Then ask him/her, what it means. Then come back and say sorry.
As for exports, heaps of MicroDicks from VirusLand, have told me that we were going to suffer, because of their trade embargoes on Australian coal, beef, lobster, wine, barley, education lamb... etc. Wumaus were joyfully predicting our economic demise to me, in July last year, right here on YouTube. We found other markets for all those items, except the coal.
What happened with the coal? We didn't have to worry in the end. Xi Jinping, banned our coal from being unloaded. So, the ships just waited, outside Chinese ports. Eventually, Xi Jinping, the leader of the MicroDicks, relented and the coal started being unloaded again, in the ports of VirusLand.
Good night, Mr/Ms Gaggi.

@GeorgE-yo5yc You have an interesting channel. It has no content and was set up in the immediate aftermath of Russia's annexation of the Crimea. You fail, bot.
Re your, "meat grinder" claims, you've chosen the wrong venue. Most of the commenters here, are from countries that are funding and/or hosting the training of Ukrainian soldiers. When several thousand of them arrive in your township, in uniform and stay for two months of training (including all that gunfire for everyone to hear), it's quite noticeable. It also contradicts your claims of untrained civilians, forced at gunpoint, into the meat grinder. Remember, these countries are also hosting refugees from Ukraine (women, children, elderly, disabled). If Zelenskiy was short of recruits, why is he still allowing these people to leave Ukraine? You failed again, bot.

What was done, with the money from 25 years of economic boom? The CCP spent it on:
- aircraft carriers
- building artificial islands
- nuclear weapons
- an expanding space programme
- a vast, espionage network
- building cyber armies
- hypersonic missiles
- overseas Confucian Institutes
- overseas police stations
- border clashes (India, Japan... etc.)
- a "Xi Jinping Thought" programme
- oppression of ethnic minorities
- incarcerating a million plus Uyghurs
- bullying other countries
- constructing scores of ghost cities
- building largely unused, rail/bridge projects
- cracking down on tuition schools
- increasing comodity costs by "punishing" Australia
- supporting Putin's greedy war
- unsuccessfully, bullying Lithuania
- millions of spy cameras with facial recognition technology
- tracking/monitoring a billion+ Chinese phones
- hosting Winter & Summer Olympics
...but now, they won't spend to support their youth! The one child policy and cultural traditions, mean these kids will eventually, each support up to 2 parents & 4 grandparents. Meanwhile, wealthy senior party members, disappear overseas, with ill-gotten gains.
In an authoritarian society, there is only one entity to blame, when things go wrong.

LOL! The joke is really on you, now. Putin just made an appeal to have the insurance sanctions on Russian shipping cargo, lifted. It was one of the conditions he put forward, for returning to the grain deal. You cane see him speak in a YouTube video about it, titled "UKRAINE BLOWS UP ANOTHER RUSSIAN HEADQUARTERS WITH JDAM, SATELLITE IMAGES OF RUSSIAN CASUALTIES". Yup! You've been a fool. It's the orcs that can't get insurance.
As you stated, "The ships can't go without an insurance by low these days 😎". Correct! Even worse, you also said, "Please, call Lloyds, Ukranians need some insurance for their ships and grain 😅". Well guess what, Russia cant get cargo insurance for anything it ships, not just, "grain". How many times can a bot fail, in one paragraph. 😃🤣😀😅😆🙂😂😄😛😆🤪🤣😛😊🤭😁

@casper6014 We are comparing, two different things. The purpose of the elevator, in part, is to reduce the cost of each launch. A lot more countries and/or organisations, will then be able to send things into space, for which they will pay a fee, to the owners of the elevator... or, they can pay much, much more, and do things the old way, taking much more time, and waiting for the right, launch windows and giving the payload a thorough shake up... etc.

@bobbobertson9325 Unfortunately, there is another issue here. Russian expansionism. Eastern Europe feels the brunt of this. Lithuania, Poland, Finland... etc., all experience territorial incursions and thousands of daily, cyber attacks. The latter, on occasion, has managed to knock out power grids.
So, which country will be next? With each acquisition, Russia grows stronger, in the long term. Putin has already acquired the Crimea and Donbass. Ukraine is the bread basket of Europe. Putin could control, Europe's staple food, as well as its gas. The longer we leave it, the stronger he becomes and the harder it will be to stop him.

@tc691kiing9 Thank you for the lecture about food wastage. Unfortunately, you assumed that I am a westerner. I am not.
Rising pork prices have nothing to do with rice fields being flooded. Nor does it account for the mistakes made with the storage of China’s rice reserve that resulted in much of it rotting away. These are things that you should have notice, yourself. Don’t simply accept the explanations offered by the CCP.
Your food prices certainly were affected by flooding. That is correct. They have also been exacerbated by a long term problem in Chinese agriculture. Your farmers are aging. Younger people are losing interest in agricultural pursuits. Your farmers say that their margins are too small because of the CCP’s tight control of pricing. Hence, young people are not keen, to take over the family farm.
The policies of CCP are reducing the capacity of your farms, to feed China. The CCP will never admit to this mistake. It therefore hopes to make up for future shortfalls, by acquiring agricultural land, in neighbouring countries (like Myanmar).
I do not believe I have told you anything, that you did not already know. So, start thinking for yourself, instead of accepting everything from the mouth of the CCP.
As for Bloomberg doing a good job… they absolutely have to. Bloomberg is the main source of information for the world’s banking and investment firms. Many governments also rely on data from Bloomberg. If Bloomberg reports false information, it will start losing business.

@Writeous0ne Russians bully the people if Eastern Europe, then wonder why they lean to the West, instead of being neutral. Stupid!
They're still bullying them, as we speak. Every day, for the last 25 years, they've had to fend off, ten of thousands of daily cyber attacks from Russia. If you don't believe me, just pick up the phone and ask people in Estonia, Romania, Latvia, Finland, Ukranian, Lithuania, Poland... etc. Remember the 2006 cyber attack, that brought down a Ukranian power grid, in midwinter. Nice huh?!
Now be a good little slave and go and die in Ukraine, for Uncle Vlad.

@ThePrikly It's somehow even scarier, when it happens to those you know.
I'm Australian. As early as 2009, a group of our senior business executives, were arrested in China, on trumped up charges, to "make a point". The main victim, "Stern Hu", was only released in 2018. It didn't stop thousands of my fellow Aussies, pursuing business in China. Sometimes it was driven by greed, or sometimes by the need, not to lose market share to rivals.

"Just want to say..." that Ukraine has many supporters, unaffected by the loss of Russian gas: Japan, Canada, Australia, USA, Korea, Colombia, Brazil... etc.
"Just want to say..." that Russia's allies have shown that they are useless. They did not support Russia 's proposal against Ukraine, two days ago in the UN. China abstained and India voted against it. Both of the have taken advantage of Russia's desperate need for new markets, to squeeze a 35% discount on Russian oil. Less than a week ago, Modi warned Putin that, "Today's era is not of war...".
Some countries have friends. Other nations, need to hire Syrian mercenaries, instead.
