The Germans didn't just threaten the Netherlands to bomb their cities, they actually did destroy one: The one I live in, which is Rotterdam. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_bombing_of_Rotterdam If you go to the city centre today, you can still see many traces of it. It's really sad.
