  1. Heh. This video got recommended to be my pure chance, but you're not wrong in terms of the changes. I wish you'd have mentioned that it's not just the recommendations or video feed that have changed, but also certain (controversial) video topics that get shown to you / you searched for and the comments. Video's in the past used to be a lot less restricted. Certain topics you could find in the video feed within the first 5 searches. Nowadays though? Good luck finding them if you aren't using a browser other than Google. Take that video from the Ugandan pastor who used to be popular back in 2010 (you know the one, I can't say the exact name because I fear the algorithm will censor it since certain words are blacklisted and prevent people from seeing this very comment). I could find it back in 2010 no problem but now I could find nothing except vids reacting to it or remixes. I thought it was removed, but it turns out that YouTube hid it on purpose for one reason or another. It took me using Ecosia to find the video's. What's even funnier is that Ecosia uses the Bing search engine, so it took me a Bing subsidiary to find a video I should've found on a Google product. This is happening on the Google toolbar too by the way. As for the comments, I talked about a blacklist earlier. I noticed in the past that certain words 'trigger' the algorithm to purposely delete a comment after 20 seconds, leading to highly frustrating conversations in the past and even very clever ways people got around it to say what they wanted to say anyway. It's been changed somewhat for the better now, but barely. Now you don't notice if your comment gets through the filter or not, but I've seen on a few occasions that my original comment got outright removed after an X amount of time has passed without notice. That's why for example you'll see 7 replies but only 3 comments - YouTube purposely wants to control the narrative. Channels too get hidden or their view limited if they talk about certain controversial topics who I can't name here. Perhaps an idea for a second video?
