  1.  @AlixZouzou  nope, if you lived in a British colony you were British subject before 1983, and citizen afterwards, until your colony gained independence. The exception came a few years later when Britain took British citizenship from Hongkongers to keep China happy.

  2. You made a slight mistake: you said to be in the line of succession you must be descended from the current monarch or a past monarch. Not true. To be in the line of succession you simply have to be a descendant of Sophia of Hanover and she was never monarch.
