The Scientific Method is all about vigorous skepticism, rigorous questioning, proposing a hypothesis, gathering evidence, interpreting data, refuting or verifying, internecine feuds and rivalries and then... after many years... reaching a consensus. For instance, Continental Drift was hypothesized by Wegener in 1912 and not accepted until the 1960s. Graham Hancock and his pseudoscientific theories will be forgotten like Helena Blavatsky, Rudolph Steiner, James Churchman, Olof Rudbeck, Ignatius Donnelly, Imanuel Velikovsky and a hundred other crackpots from 100 years ago.

I doubt that Graham privately believes himself to be a Prophet of Awe & Wonder. He's laughing all the way to the bank. Scientists constantly challenge the status quo. They disagree with each other about everything. Vigorous skepticism and rigorous questioning is part of the scientific process. 12 year olds start with Bigfoot and Aliens -- groomed into Ancient Aliens & Atlantis -- then graduate to Area 51, 9/11 inside job, Flat Earthers, science deniers, election deniers, moon landing deniers, and then QAnon Deep State believers in Jewish space lasers, Cannibalistic Devil-Worshipping Blood-drinking Dems, Lizard People and the Illuminati Protocols. Internets + social media algorithms + drugs + Graham + Alex Jones = a generation raised on conspiracy theories and denial of Rationalism and The Scientific Method.
