  23. point 2) gaza is basically an open air prison. or another term is ghetto. or more like ghetto prison. as a gazan, you have no ability to freely travel or freely trade with the world at large. to exit you have to seek permission of israel or the israel financed (via USA) police state of Egypt (southern border crossing). whatever comes in/out of gaza, comes thru israeli permission based on their whims. do they want gazans to be self sufficient, prosperous? i do not know the answer to that question. ----------------- the answer lies in the West Bank however! where 500,000 israeli settlers have moved onto palestinian land and homes since 1967. to accomodate these settlers, israel has destroyed the West Bank as a functional economy vis checkpoints and walling off the palestinans from freely moving around their own homes and lands ---------- given the shape of gaza, it suits israel to wall it off from israel proper and turn it into an open air prison, and focus on the juicy West bank, taking it over piece by piece systematically, until all of it becomes part of Israel --------- and the palestinians there can be pushed out to Jordan or Gaza prison camp
