  2. @aminjeanbredimus7157  There is groom price/dowry in some other cultures across the world. I think in India, dowry is paid the other way around - from bride's family to groom. And the wisdom behind it is that the man needs a headstart to take care of their daughter. In such cases the woman rarely creates drama that could potentially lead to a divorce. The West should indeed try out this method and see how it goes.
