Something missing in this conversation: is it even desirable for these bands to still be around if they were not able to grow their music into something more appropriate than revolt, angst and desires? I'm 74 and have not been tempted to watch old (< literally) bands perform the music of their younger years. When I listen to /watch the good old 60s bands on YT, which I currently love to do, they invariably bring up a sense of nostalgia that I enjoy. I also enjoy how they look and what that meant in those days - to be different, rebellious, set one's own standards, and since this was in demand, it was also supported by record labels and tv. But, that spirit is no longer what these (literally) old bands stand for and so they are a fading memory of who they used to be - a sad situation I don't need to watch IRL.
