As a Type 1 diabetic I wear a continuous glucose monitor. I eat no breakfast, and yet my glucose levels spike enormously just after getting out of bed. It is very frustrating, and has nothing to do with food, I have been told that the liver supplies the glucose to feed the body with energy for the start of the day. So throw that variable into the mix - yes, it doesn't happen every day... :-/ Speaking of variables -- why is this even posted (again) when Zoe's own research has supposedly shown that everyone has a different metabolism, and cereal (oatmeal) is good for some but causes spikes in others, the latter result specifically for Prof. Spector himself...??

Interesting - only because this is more confusing than ever. Why post this, leaving us with more questions than before? Shepherds......... First fish consumed at 20? ..... Eating habits of only 6 (remote!) villages..... translate into a Blue Zone? Very limited access to healthy foods...? How do we draw conclusions for today's conditions? I guess we don't. Just eat whole food plant baased.

Taking you off the meds will make you regain the weight, There is no endpoint to weight loss if your weight loss depends on the "medication". I don't get your healthcare team's reasoning.

@tiararoxeanne1318 Try the flax seeds in a healthy green smoothie (with fruit). They disappear.

I guess I skipped that part, but this whole broadcast souds like sales pitch. Time2stamp please. (I skipped the taste test :-/)

From what I understand they spared him the troubling details at the time.

It would have been nice to see some of the research that these beliefs are based upon. There are many other opinions out there so trotting out authority figures just doesn't cut it anymore. In an obesity/diabetes epidemic it's callous to encourage people to consume lots of fats. They will take it as "go ahead use a lot of oil", not paying attention to the quality of the oil. Those fighting obesity are the ones that don't know anything about nutrition and just buy what's cheap. And here we have some privileged folks willy-nilly recommending fatty foods, with the caveat, make it expensive, of course, and use it often...... SMH.

Don't inbclude spinach, etc. Kale is fine.

I was waiting to hear some info or better: warnings about that topic. Also, about the depletion of soil nutrients by Big Farming. Zoe lacks some integrity, IMO. Why create shorts when all you do is create incomplete "facts". Sad to see Dr. B as part of this half***ed effort. BTW, I laid off gluten and my feet no longer get red and swollen and the burning pain is gone, on most days. :-)

Not worth it. Nothing of substance and then a taste test.

Try flax seeds in your green smoothie or a vegan algae supplement. I use lots of flax seeds in a smoothie as per Dr Brooke Goldner to make up for deficiencies.
2
You need to grind up the seeds in a dedicated coffee grinder.

@Suehuskins Did you use ground flax seed, did you add them gradually in small amounts? Sorry, you got sick. I use lots, and there is no problem - but I've been vegan/vegetarian for decades.

@alexanderroc3359 You can easily find O3 in flax seeds, chia seeds (both need to be freshly ground, I use flax seeds in my green smoothies daily)) and in algae. The latter is where fish find them, they don't produce O3 either. 🙂

You need fat for brain health. (from nuts, seeds and avocados) You don't need oil.

Elephant in the room: Tim suggests that the measures taken in other countries contribute to their lower Covid numbers yet he's not saying he is for implementing such measures..... Doublespeak, esp while he is pointing out the dangerously high number of cases in England? SMH I have noticed this kind of dichotomy before in his presentation. What gives?

@osterlaich6395 People are not destined to eat any form of meat. It is an evolution that has been bastardized and exploited for profit reasons by people who present ever more "food" traps for those who walk in and pay for the "pleasure" of getting sick in the long run. You might call that destiny as well, if you like.

@heredianna2496 A flat glucose curve is impossible. You are right, nuances are not explained. For me, it is important to know how much insulin I need to add to my body to get the carbs processed. I was told early on that mood, exercise, nutrition all influence blood sugars. I learned this 35 years ago.

INTERESTING. Seems like this should have been mentioned. :-/ It appears to be a valid concern.

@JonMacFhearghuis ----- No. :-)

Why did you even bother, that was so predictable and btw your bias is showing. Debate taste all you want, but when it comes to healthy or not present the research!!

Mine went away when I dropped all animal foods. I was already vegetarian for many years. This shows how inflammatory even a small amount of animal products can be!
