But thats the whole point of this constant reminder! Many (elderly) people dont drink enough, because they forget, they dont feel it, its somehow exhausting to them. And they do come to hospital with kidney insufficiencies. Kidneys do need certain amount of water flowing to do their work without suffering. Ofc 8 glasses do not count for each single day of drinking pure water alone, especially not in summer.
But yeah, if your body works well and you listen to it, you know when to drink. However, any comparisin with water deprived states is a little creepy, since no one should voluntarily wait for and rely on their urgent desire for water in daily life until this point when it's almost too late.
So please, better emphazise the reasons such simplified recommendations were put implace, first.
