I am a PhD biochemist myself and not yet fully convinced by the chain of arguments in this interview (despite also believing the story of COVID-19 origins contains abnormalities and more and more signs tend to favor a lab accident). Are there disagreements of the interpretation of coronavirus genome sequences? Available data bases should be objectively analysable. Or do Chines papers just try to make other statements than American papers? E.g. on the Furin cleavage site: "Furin cleavage sites naturally occur in coronaviruses Yiran Wu et al. Stem Cell Res. 2020." I mean a 12 letter sequence will be easily found ubiquitously. Also it is pointless to state how like almost all viruses seem not to be viable in human but Covid is and is thus conspicuous. That is not true, humans are not just untouchable by literally every virus, but for a few pandamic-prone winners. Also there is a reason why in China Corona viruses from animals are researched, because this transmission happened frequently already in history. Nature has already developed this capability, and for reasons.
