All of you are neither Latins, nor Latinos, nor Latinas, nor Hispanics and nor Latinx. You have to stay away from everything, every word which has "LATIN" in it because so have already trashed and downgraded our great Roman Heritage which doesn't belong to any of you. The French colonizers called that part of your continent "Amerique Latine" and this refers ONLY to the geographical location and "Amerique Latine" (Latin America) doesn't mean "Latino". Latin America means Latin America and a person who comes from Latin America is a Latin American whether you like it or not. Blame Mexican Chicano Frank del Olmo. He created all these identity problems for you by choosing "Latino" instead of "Latin American/s" to identify the people of the Americas. Latin/Latino has already a 2000 year-old Roman meaning and it's not yours. Latino is incorrect in English-correct way is LATIN masculine and feminine and these are the Latins, linguistically ans culturally: Italians, French, Romanians, Portuguese and Spaniards. Latin refers only to, first to the Latin Language (Lingua Latina) spoken by the Romans, then refers to the languages derived from the Latin, Romance Languages, then Latin refers to the Latin Culture of the Romans.. Not as you think. Latin is not the color of your skin , Latin is not your DNA and Latin is not your Blood. Latin can only be used when in a conversation one has to state his or her own cultural background and NOT as a personal identification. You must use your RACE or the country you come from "Mexican"..."Cuban" or just say Latin American but NOT Latin, NOT Latino, NOT Latina and certainly NOT Latins.
Blame Frank del Olmo. and his ignorance about Roman Latin Heritage.

@Bzcenci812 You got that right. The person who caused all this problem concerning the use of "Latino" was a Mexican Chicano man called Frank del Olmo. Frank del Olmo years ago wanted to unite all the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas under one name, one label, but he chose the wrong "Latino" label instead of using "Latin American/s". Now these Spanish-speaking people of the Americas believe that when one says Latin/Latino it's all about them and about their Skin Color. They associate the term Latin or Latino as being their Indigenous Skin Color or their DNA or their Blood when being Latins doesn't have anything to do with Skin Color or Blood. Being Latins it's all about Romance Languages and Roman Latin Culture. They have to use the name of their country of origin to identify themselves and not use Latin or Latino or Latina. If they come from Mexico they have to identify as Mexicans, if they come from Cuba they have to identify as Cubans... or if they want to identify as a group then they have to say "Latin American/s" but not Latin, not Latino, not Latina, not Hispanic and not the latest gimmick "Latinx".

For too long the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas have abused and twisted the meaning of Latin/Latino. It's not their "native" heritage. It's the heritage of the Romans, the Italians and the Latin Europeans. They have to blame Amigo Frank del Olmo. He caused all this identity problem for them.
