  1. The Latin was the language of our Roman ancestors . Over the centuries it changed into Romance languages. In Italy it became Italian, in France it became French, in Romania it became Romanian, in Spain it became Spanish and in Portugal it became Portuguese. I believe that the Italian is more sentimental than the old Latin even though I agree with some posters that the Latin or Lingua Latina is more impressive.

  2. Italian comes from the Latin language. Everything Latin/Latino be it the Latin people the Latin language (lingua Latina) and the Latin culture all comes from Italy and not from Spain and not from Latin America. Hispanics of the Americas are Latin Americans. They only speak a Latin derived language Spanish which was imposed upon them by Spanish colonizers. A person coming from Latin America is a Latin American. Latino means something else.
