The problem with Italy during the last war was that Mussolini strategy was faulty in sending its military all over: France, Russia, Spain, Ethiopia, Somalia and Libya. They were spread all over. The last mentioned reason was fundamental. The Italians did not approve of all these wars but what really culminated in the war loss was the mistake that Hitler made in declaring war to the United States of America with Japan and Mussolini joining him. I understand that Mussolini had no choice. He would not say no to his his friend Hitler but it was not his intention to join. Had Hitler not declared war to the United States with all the other nations ganging up on them things might have turned differently.
