@PacificCircle1 Latino/Latin only means one thing: The Latin Language spoken by the Romans, Romance languages derived from the Latin: Italian, French, Romanian, Portuguese and Spanish and the Latin Culture of the Romans.
Latino/Latina/Latin: Language and culture and nothing else.
The people from what the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, called Amerique Latine (Latin America) are LATIN AMERICANS.
Latino/Latina/Latin is not a race, not an ethnicity, not a Blood, not a DNA, not a Skin Color, not a Music and not a Food and everything Latino/Latina/Latin be it the Latin people, the Latin language and the Latin culture all comes from Italy and not from Spain and not from Latin America and Latino is not an abbreviation for "Latin American". Latino is one thing and Latin American is another.

@jamessoares129 Mestizo Frank del Olmo invented the term Latino instead of using "Latin American". del Olmo had no idea of what Latino really means and you have no idea either. Number one saying "Latinos" in an English conversation is totally grammatically wrong. The right way is LATINS. Tow you, the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas are not Latins. You are Latin Americans and your race is something else. You must do like we all do, identify yourselves by using your RACE. We all do this but you the Spanish-speaking people are exempted why? You take a location"Latin America" and make it "Latino" and you claim that this is your Race or Ethnicity like Mestizo Frank del Olmo did? If you're White in Latin America you say White, if you're Mestizo you say Mestizo or Mulatto/a, etc., etc. you choose what's best for your Race but NO Latino cannot be used as an Ethnicity or Race for you. Latino as I said is grammatically wrong while writing or speaking in English and refers to Language and Culture while Latin American refers to a location where one comes from. Hey...get it right. You must use your race to identify yourselves like we all do. And by the way there is no Latin Skin Color, there is no Latin Food, there is no Latin Music and there is no Latin Dance. It's all your invention.
You' re neither Latins, nor Latinos, nor Latinx. You are "Latin Americans" with nothing Latin other than the language which comes from the Latin language of the Romans.
Use your own race/races to identify yourselves like we all do and these are the races: White, Black, Asian and Red-Skin Indian.

@yeseniaaguilar9178 You mean "Latin Americans" are "so mix". Also please read other comments before posting your own. You may learn a lot. For instance saying "Latino/Latina" in an English conversation is grammatically incorrect. The right term is LATIN masculine or feminine. I know that Frank del Olmo was ignorant in Roman History and he chose the term "Latino" instead of using a racial term or "Latin American" to identify the "Ethnicity" of the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas but you can learn. You must use your race/races to identify yourselves and these are the races: White, Black, Asian and Red-Skin Indian or if you want to identify the location of your origin then you say either Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, etc., etc., or just "Latin America" and leave the Latino alone because Latino/a only refers to Roman Latin Languages and Roman Latin Culture and nothing to do with your Ethnicity, Nothing to do with your Race, Nothing to do with your Skin Color. By he way There is no Latin Food, there is no Latin Music, there is no Latin Dance. It's only your invention. (Latin it's all about Latin Languages and Latin Culture). Both Roman. Do a Google search about Frank del Olmo and see why he chose the term "Latino" and twisted its Roman meaning and gave it another meaning).

@goodaimshield1115 Nobody can deny anything. It's not that that's a law. Not all all. It was an "Hispanic"mestizo man called Frank del Olmo who 25 years ago chose the term LATINO instead of "LATIN AMERICAN" which was the right hing to do and he even fooled the U.S. Census Bureau into using this term to identify the "ETHNICITY" of all the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas.. First of all saying LATINO when speaking or writing in English is totally grammatically wrong but the panderer Census Bureau accepted it anyway without even inquiring on the meaning of the term Latino and on the possible historical ramification. In English is LATIN singular and LATINS plural. In Italian, Romanian, Portuguese and Spanish it's LATINO/LATINA but not in English. It's just that these Spanish-speaking people don't have any idea of the meaning of Latin or Latino and where this great language and culture come from. They think that Latin/Latino is their Skin Color, their DNA, their Blood!!! In fact you often read them saying" I'm half Latino/a and half African" or I'm Half Latina and half Chinese". Big lie. Being Latin refers only to languages and culture. It's time for the Spanish-speaking people of the Americas to realize that there was no Latin anything here before the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, brought it here with their Latin-derived languages, (French, Portuguese and Spanish) Roman Laws, and Roman Catholicism and they should all learn that everything LATIN be it the Latin people, the Latin Language and the Latin Culture all comes from Roman Italy and not from Latin America.

It's "Latin Americans" and not Latino. Then "Latino" is grammatically incorrect when writing or speaking in English. In English it's "Latin. You would never say in English: "I'm Latino/a". The correct way is : "I"m Latin" whether masculine or feminine. Latin only refers to language and culture and they both come from Roman Italy and nothing to do with "Latin America" which was called this way by the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, because their languages derive from the Latin language. Sorry there is no Latin Skin Color, there is no Latin DNA in the Americas, there is no Latin Food, there is no Latin Dance and the is no Latin Music. Latin is only language and culture. Being a Latin means having inherited the linguistic and cultural identity of the Romans and nothing else. These are the Latins: Italians, French, Romanians, Portuguese and Spaniards and have been Latins for more than 2000 years. You are Latin Americans not by race but by location of origin. You must identify yourselves using your races like we all do and these are the races: White, Black, Asian and Red-Skin Indian or a mix of them but not Latino or Latin.

@AlefeLucas You the same as all the others. Ignorant in history. Why don't you learn? Latino was an invented term by "Hispanic" Frank del Olmo. He chose "Latino" (which is incorrect in English language-the correct way is LATIN) instead of Latin American. del Olmo was ignorant but why all of you want to be like him? Latino/Latin only refers to Roman Latin Languages and Roman Latin Culture. Latino already has a 2000 year-old definition and cannot be changed. These are the Latinos (Latins), the real, ones: Italians, French, Romanians, Portuguese and Spaniards. Please don't make fools out of yourselves by claimed something that it doesn't belong to you. Latin (Latino) is not your "native" heritage. It's the Roman heritage of the Latin Europeans and Latin America which was named Latin America by the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, doesn't translate into "Latino". You come from Latin America name imposed upon you then you are Latin Americans by geography and not by race. You must identify yourselves by using your races like we all do and these are the races: White, Black, Asian and Red-Skin Indian. Stop the lies. There was nothing Latin on this continent before the Latin European colonizers brought it here with their Latin-derived languages, French, Portuguese and Spanish and imposed them upon you. Stop the lies.

Russell Richards Actually all the Italians are Latins. The Latins originate from the Lazio (Latium) region but eventually they were incorporated by the more powerful next door Romans. The Romans adopted the Latin language and the Latin culture of the Latins and as one people they engaged in the unification of all the groups living in Italy and as they assimilated one groups at a time they spread their Latin Language and Latin Culture. So all of Italy was Roman and all of Italy became Latin linguistically and culturally. Once united the Romans went out of Italy and colonized most of Europe imposing their Latin Language, (Lingua Latina) Latin Culture, Romans Laws and Christianity. The Romans were those who spread Christianity throughout Europe. Eventually the Latin language changed over the centuries. In Italy it changed in modern Italian, In France into French, in Romania into Romanian, in Portugal into Portuguese and inn Spain into Spanish. When the Latin European colonizers, French, Portuguese and Spaniards, came to the new world they imposed their Latin-derived languages, French, Portuguese and Spanish, Romans Laws and Christianity upon the indigenous population and called this area of the Americas "LATIN" America. The Latin is only in the Languages. Latin (Latino is grammatically incorrect when speaking or wring in English-the correct way is LATIN) has nothing to do with race or ethnicity or skin color. One cannot be half Black and half Latin because the two don't match.. Black is a race and Latin is a language and culture. And the people from Latin America are "Latin Americans". They have to use their RACE to identify themselves like we all do and these are the races: White, Black, Asian and Red-Skin Indian. NO Latino, no Latin, no Hispanic and no Latinx. All invented terms.
