  1. How did that rapproachment to China play out in the long term? The USSR never was as big a threat as communist China is nowadays. Nixon genuinely believed that seeking diplomatic ties to communist China was a good strategic decision, and at the time it made perfect sense, but he might have made a huge mistake given what we know now.

  2. He made a colossal mistake in recognising the PRC though. There's only one legitimate government of China and it's the Republic of China.

  3.  @larriejohnsonII  G.H.W. Bush should have let the US Army oust Saddam and install a puppet regime in Iraq in 1991. Not doing so was very poor strategic decision-making.
