  1. It was problematic in the 18th century already. The idiocy didn't begin with Derrida and Foucault, they're just the end point where everything was deconstructed and nothing makes sense anymore. Deconstructionism started with Rousseau, who believed that people were born as a blank paper and were entirely shaped by their upbringing and cultural surroundings. This isn't true, due to genetics. However, believing it's true is a prerequisite for embracing postmodernism. Rousseau also influenced Marx and various other left-leaning thinkers to a large degree.
