Nah, they try to keep you needing medications for the rest of your life. A cured patient is a patient lost. Someone needing meds for the rest of their life is the real cash cow for big pharma.

Lard isn't shortening. Lard is pork belly fat, it's solid at room temperature out of itself. Shortening a solid fat made from hydrogenation of oils that are liquid at room temperature in their natural state. Naturally solid fats like lard, beef tallow, or butter, don't fit the definition.

Not all ultra processed food is bad. A meal replacement shake made from PB2 peanut butter powder, whey, casein, a spoonful of avocado oil, multivitamin powder and quick oats is more or less fully processed (except for the avocado oil) but also incredibly nutritious. In fact, it could be made to be near 100% perfect in terms of macros and micros. By comparison, a portion of macadamia nuts is 'whole food' but is nutritionally speaking far closer to empty calories (due to its massive fat content and having little protein or carbs and few vitamins) than the aforementioned shake.
