With the exception of som Gypsy quarters in various Eastern European cities, the equivalent flat blocks there still have a homogenous native ethnic population so many of the problems the Bijlmermeer faced, which were caused by criminal migrants, aren't a thing there.

Inconceivable how someone can think this is acceptable. Prostitution is bad for both the hookers and the clients, is contrary to decent sexual morality, yet the government is facilitating this rather than doing what they should be doing: criminalising prostitution but in a way that only criminalises the business side of it, not the hookers or their clients themselves, because they're mere victims of a sick society without a proper moral foundation and need to be protected rather than punished.

The very best thing about Amsterdam is the intercity train to Venlo. To the part of the Netherlands where you can still buy a home suitable for a family of 5 on a single income before you're 30 if you're not a peasant, and, in case you are a peasant, where the waiting list for social housing is under 40 months. Where you do not have Trotskyites like Rutger Groot Wassink in the municipal administration. Where you don't have scores of lunatics masquerading as someone of the opposite sex. Where homosexuals aren't bare-backing in public parks but in the privacy of their own homes. Where hordes of drunken tourists aren't pissing against the façade of your house. Where there's no brothels in the city centre but only some private gentleman's clubs in the countryside. Where you do not have to buy a Kärcher pressure cleaner just to get rid of the sheep blood dripping from your neighbour's balcony the day before the islamic sacrifice fest. Where you don't have to stumble over a decapitated body in front of a hookah lounge due to Moroccan cocaine cowboys carrying out a bloody vendetta. Where most people still adhere to somewhat traditional family values. Where you can cycle for 20 minutes and be entirely surrounded by farmland or forests. Amsterdam is lost. Not due to infrastructural or architectural reasons, but due to demographic trends and liberal lundacy and the firm grip that the political left has on administration. Wouldn't want to be found there dead and I'll avoid visiting the bloody place at almost all costs.

There was an even bigger gallery flat built in the city of Venlo, Vleugelflat St. Annakamp. It had many of the same flaws as the Bijlmer, dog shit (and human shit) and used needles everywhere, chuck full of junkies, alcoholics, and other degenerates. The last residents left in 1997 and it was knocked down in 1999 using explosives. I am just about old enough to still remember the flat was inhabited, albeit only half of units occupied. It actually had a highway underpass + a massive radiation shelter underneath. These modernist buildings are crimes against humanity. The only reason that the Bijlmer is much more popular is that living in Amsterdam is so popular that people settle for living stacked up in concrete with a thousand others. Glad I live in a small and quiet provincial town instead.
