Ben Shapiro, himself a lawyer, went over this too, and drew the exact same conclusion I did. By the way, the former Ukrainian president Yanukovich and his cronies laundered 7 billion dollars and funneled 16 million to the Bidens. Even if Trump DID in fact use aid as a tool to get Ukraine to look into their corruption, then this was justified.

Paying hush money to keep an affair from being made public isn't a campaign expenditure. It's a private matter which might or might not have political ramifications - I can guarantee you that Melania cares about her husband being unfaithful but Trump's voter base doesn't - he was widely known to be a serial adulterer before he ran for office.
