Twincest IsWincest Dr. Strange would lose this. This is a comic book movie and it's all cool, but they are really, really selling Dormammu short. Like a timeless eldrich god versus some squishy human brain. The god wins every time. After about a million returns Strange's mind would probably shatter and in the end he would willingly undo the loop.

Twincest IsWincest Why would Dormammu kill Strange then? Like...he is an endritch god. Just torture him indefinitely, no? Obviously Dormammu isn't some Cthulhu level of swirling mass of insanity, I mean...he has a god damn face, kinda lame if you ask me. So maybe it's fine like this.

@BCWasbrough Highly unlikely that Dormammu would have the same emotional makeup as a human tho. But, well, as we all know all beings in the universe share the same American values and way of thinking, except the commies who are therefore evil.

@lycanthropic1122 I feel like Wolverine is misused so much in his stories. It's pretty much always "He wants to be left alone" to "Evil gov. agents comes after him" to "some innocents die who take him in" to "he is countered by plot device" Adamantine bullet my ass. He is essentially unstoppable in a fair fight. So instead of making up some random crap about "adamantine bullets" or "we just turn his powers off" or "we just turn his powers off, slowly" they could have just send him against natural adversaries. Either his oppoenents realizing a fair fight is a no go and trying to circumvent it (against which Logan would have to try and force a straight fight, like a hunt or the like) or, just like in this scene, have someone who naturally hard-counters him and then it's about Wolverine finding a solution to it. But nooo, heated adamantine sword.

@tiffles3890 We are actually the best endurance hunters on the planet, but okey.

Which is the exact reason this scene is inferior, they even resolved this in a better way in this same part with the other guy. This "I defeated the programming because my humanity is strong" is nonsense. The original, as far as I can tell, and perhaps even this one already shows the "power of humanity" by portraying Alex as someone who can keep their humanity in an inhuman body. "I just did it anyway" is way less clever than "My partner helped" or "We cleverly circumvented the programming"

@thegnomeriseofthepopcornra7315 Oh, okey then. As a side note I'm not too fond of these ridicolously obscenely OP characters like this...

I recommend watching Shinsekai Yori It's a more grim take on the effect of superpowers on society.

@tiffles3890 No it's not. The first requirement for endurance hunting is endurance which comes from our very efficient heat dissipation. Also our bodies are excellent for throwing objects. There are all physical characteristics we have. It's fair to say that humans don't have the strenght of a gorilla and probably neither the speed of one and also humans main ability is intelligence (which is somewhat awkward), but it's not correct to say that we don't have any advantages in physical ability.
1
@tiffles3890 Neither tool making, nor social adaptation (whatever that means) is unique to humans, but yes, there would be no point of having big brains if we didn't use them. Also if you lived in constant physical activity you didn't need to "lift" either.

@minihalkoja590 ... lol It's a pointless and braindead theory. A - it's pointless because it doesn't matter. It's a movie. This Darwin character seems to be more fit for a serialized storytelling where him surviving and using his survival skills can be applied. As others said otherwise his powers are reactive, which is used here to show he cares and is willing to sacrafice himself for the team, creating drama while showing off Shaw as a threat more. B - If he turned into pure energy and couldn't bring himself back to normal form that's equivalent to dying. C - Do you have any fucking idea how much energy would be released by that transformation? A lot. Like Shaw wouldn't have to bother trying to start a nuclear war because Darwin turning into pure energy would have been the nuclear war.

You kinda need a star for that one.

I'm still having cringe episodes over how retarded the logic in this part is. I mean...Deadpool here has adamantite skeleton, no? So how does the decapitation work exactly? And while at it, how would Deadpool decapitate Wolverine? And how would an adamantite bullet do anything, eh? This "it can cut / penetrate adamantite, because it's made of adamantite!" is 5 year old kid logic. It's like the writers drank a gallon of dum-dum juice and sharted this out.

@tprime2702 Actually, no, you are wrong. In your example 0.000...to the infinite...01 is actually zero. Which immediately invalidates your entire argument. And before you counter-argue that nuh-uh, there is a 01 in the end so it's not zero, well then I ask: where? What's the difference between 0 and what you described? Nothing, that's what. I really don't have the space and laguage skill to actually write down all the math behind it, but this isn't that high level either so you can look it up.

@georgepatton6029 Right, because especially movies from the nineties and eighties had this "Amerika GUD Commies BAD" stuff going on. Basically what I was referring too is that holliwood is trying to appeal to the widest american audience and tends produce plots where the american ideal is also the objectively good one and a foreign way of thinking or culture or whatever is naturally evil.
1
@georgepatton6029 No kidding, but why would it be bad if they don't push the bullshit agenda? Well they are pushing different bullshit, but yeah. I think I was trying to draw a paralell between that simplicity and how they portrayal this interaction.
