@ModjoConCarne Oh we are aware. But we are also aware that nowadays "racial diversity" is shoehorned everywhere, and when I say racial diversity I specifically mean "african american" or just simply african. And even the same facial structure and everything. The difference between what you are referring to and what this is about is that one likely went like this "let's get two actors to play these roles" versus "Let's get two actors, one big name and one black"

@ModjoConCarne Well, I didn't know that Tom Holland is acting on random stage plays, I was under the impression that this is going to be a movie. So what's it going to be? Because we aren't ignoring facts because they don't support our narrative, we are ignoring facts because they are not part of the topic. The fact that playing in shakespeare works is pretty much unavoidable to any stage actor, especially in Britain has nothing to do with this if this was casting done for a movie or similar. And similar here means high cost high exposure. So just because actors play in Romeo and Juliet, it doesn't mean that her casting wasn't racially and politically motivated. Of course we cannot be 100% sure that it WAS either, but nowadays unfortunately it's a pretty good guess that it was.

@ModjoConCarne I have no reason to know what "London production" is, either way I doubt a "local theathre" production would make the headlines, which drives it back to the point where the cast members were deliberately chosen. And at this point no, the burden of proof is no longer held by us. What I mean by that is that the last few years were full with this type of racism or feminism or just in general the "woke agenda" So yes it's entirely possible that you are in fact correct and this casting was done in good faith. But the community can no longer give any benefit of the doubt, because how often this "take white character paint it black and make her ugly too" has taken place. Unfortunately for me, none of this changes the fact that you are right in this. A correct argument has to be made. So if she wasn't diversity picked, it would mean that there was some other consideration, assuming she wasn't the only one trying for the role. And because the play already has a "starring" actor I would say it's safe to assume that casting wasn't from a small local group. I cannot tell how good she is because her IMDb profile has 4 roles listed, but I also assume she plays on stage continously. Her profile does say she is more into sound/music however so maybe, assuming positively, that's a hint on how the actual play will be? Either way if Tom Holland brings in his "star power" and acting then what does she bring? Was she picked for the role because she is talented and people want to put her into a big production or is she taken because she is just black? Because it's sure as hell not her looks that got her the role. Either way, be it a play or not, the case here isn't a "well who do we have who haven't played Julia yet?" but a "chose actors with deliberation" and I feel that it's reasonable to suspect racial motivation. If it's not then it's actually a win for everyone, except racists I guess. IF it is, then it's a big L, because then everyone will assume racism even harder.

@ModjoConCarne Why would I know what "London Production" is? I was actually assuming that Tom Holland was picked because he is a "star" and he looks like a child at age 27. But you are correct, we still heard about it it still makes headlines and it seems to have the budget and everything. Meaning casting can take it's pick. There must be a reason she was picked for the role. In an ideal world we would assume it's due to talent and skill. We do not live in an ideal world.

@ModjoConCarne And you are correct. It's just that when it's the nth year of constant woke crap worming it's way into everywhere, it becomes too much of a hassle to be politically correct. This was apparent from the start. A minority group of asshole using the race card, or the gender card and so on for personal gain draws ire on to the entire group. Which isn't fair of course. But neither is having to comply a 20 page investigation to see wether one is legit or not when we have this drama like twice a day now.

@jahile I find it disturbing if youtube censors comments like that, that is very bad. In general? Well you can get a very long list even here. BLM, Black History Month, media in general is used to "diversify" which is mostly forced for some agenda I'm not sure I understand. Well I understand that BLM is used to loot on the streets and steal money so the leader can have her own mansion, but I don't get the politics behind it. And the main theme is that it tends to be just african / black. Let's be honest if we go on a global scale and mimic population then most characters would be asian. But history channel isn't spreading that cleopatra was japanese because someone's grandma said so, right? So specifically at this point I cannot tell for sure, because it is entirely possible that she was cast for a valid reason. But at this point I might not even bother double-checking. "Yeah, looks like it, probably is, good bye" I could go on and on with examples of crap social fuckery that grew everywhere, but it's more than enough to watch asmon reading "news" to see how bad it is.

@davidlauderdale7147 Wow. "It's not just bland white people anymore" Racist much? There is one more thing also very wrong with your train of thought and it's that you tie race and culture together. Why? What does skin colour have to do with my system of values? You do realize that even within a single country culture changes, right? But to answer what is left of your question, diversity would be good, but what is actually happening is "bland white people must go" people like you painting things black and pretty much nothing else. And yes in this specific case one guy already pointed out that it's a stage play (however big it might be) and for stage the suspension of disbelief is different. So it shouldn't matter what her skin is coloured. But again thanks to people like you it does and that is what's wrong.
