@Greedman Pretty much nothing works with the wheelchair. For a player who insist on their char to be in one everyone else has to completely suspend disbelief and just handwave everything. I mean you can't do 90% of the stuff you would otherwise have to do. Melee fighting completely out, ranged out except maybe crossbow if a mechanism is isntalled for reloading, mobility is effectively 0, because the moment it's not a flat surface without obstruction, you are done. There is a reason why disabled is called "disabled" It's just that simple. Fantasy allows you to circumvent it or use it as plot point which is done very often.

On first glance you can tell that this is self inserting, rebranded as "inclusion". But when you think 2 more seconds you realize that this means that whoever is trying to insert their wheelchair-bound self into their own fantasy define themselves by their disability. And that is generally accepted as a bad move, right? On top of that this also means that they don't have the faintest clue of what roleplaying is. Just because you are a wheelchair bound women in their twenties, you can still play a muscular wizard man, a manzard is you like, who learned magic while living with werewolves in the wild and one of them was a sage before being cursed. These people come over and try to make our fantasy lame both figuratively and literally. It's supposed to be cool. So generally I'm now against inclusivity because this is what it means now. And those who just come to defend this type of bullshit without having anything to do with it, I don't even know where to place them.

@ryanbobnik1609 AO said you can't cure this disability = you can't cure the disability. It's a narrative tool to limit stuff like this, completely up to the DM.

@cobrakingofeart Maybe you're trying to play a high magic heroic fantasy while your DM is trying to tell a mid-low magic gritty fantasy, do in fact speak to your DM about it. I've let my players buy pretty good magic items in Neverwinter, sure the shopkeepers were orphan-eating onies setting up shop to spy on the players (the magic items were bugged), but that's besides the point. Big chonky pets and mounts get shafted because it's a pain to run them as well. I still have to find the "pony personality list" I've made for my players after they had their pony race (and bought the ponies) in Triboar.
