  1.  @Dante_S550_Turbo  My problem with protected zones is that PvE can exploit and abuse too. What is stopping someone to just claim way too much land or otherwise grief you with claims? I always hated PvE for this exact reason, in PvP I lose and get griefed because I'm bad at PvP. In PvE I lose and get griefed because the griefer exploits the game's protection.

  2.  @naymeda8716  But that's the thing, IRL deterrent against griefing is the idea that best case scenario you get stabbed with a spear and die. But in games, dying is just a resource that's usually very cheap. I like the idea that one needs to seek out security in order to not get raided/griefed and the like, but it is not healthy if a naked bob can run into your town and destroy weeks or months worth of progress with a torch.

  3.  @satamoto6488  But aren't asmonbald building like 2 huge castles here? Small plot isn't limiting? Also again, what stopping 6 guys from surrounding your plot with theirs then walling you in? I have experienced all types of ARK PvP, not much but some. What I love is when there is an objective to it and some thought that went into it. "We fight over a claim" or "we are raiding this base for resources" or "this base has disrespected server community policies and is attacked for it (like building on important resources or areas)" What I get tired really fast is either beach bobs just griefing or you being completely unable to play the game because your thatch hut is annihillated by a super death mega robot and a T-rex with a plasma cannon. Also cheaters. I have no problem understanding that raiding and stealing and all that exists, let's team up and build a village together. But if that village is just a sitting duck for all kinds of abuse and there is no feasible way of grief deterrance, then eventually the servers will erode and die as only ppl with a brain capacity for "weapons go brrr" will play and then they won't because they ran out of heads to smush.
