  1. You are right on the money, actually. Similar happened in 2006, in Olaszliszka, Hungary. Little girls was similarly fine, but the driver was beaten to death by the angry mob. He had no dashcam, but had his two daughters in the car to witness it.

But yes, an automatic litterbox does indeed cross the line. Goes so far behind the line in fact. It's a ridicolously expensive luxury, I'm not even sure what it's function is. And these conpanies are clearly targeting these people who want a "cheap" (still very expensive) luxury, but whom lack any sense of self awareness. All of this could be just a plastic box with a cover and a crank. But some people just need it to be automatic, brrrr goes the litter box.

  5. An automatic litterbox is peak consumerism / decadence. You have an useless pet for whom you still have to feed and take care of and you choose the most wasteful option on top of that. Plastic waste + electric waste + using electricity continously for the mild convenience. Well, I'm sitting here, gets over 30 °C in september now, we are cooking together one way or another.

  6.  @Radiogirl1931  You are turning the world on it's head, putting the cart before the horse or what have you. I believe you have a genuine take on this and have no malice in your comment. But I would argue that this isn't jealousity and nor is it about "being able to afford" things either. It's about reason. Exactly as you've said, being smart about it. You have a lung condition and ADHD. Meaning you WILL forget about the litterbox and you WILL suffer from chronic bronchitis unless you automatize that litter process...except this isn't the smart solution. The reasonable train of thought is that "well shit, I just can't have a cat" and then don't have a cat. You don't need one. The problem to which the solution is an automatic litterbox is a self manufactured one. This is like if I wanted to smoke inside the gunpowder depot and manufactured a convoluted system which has multiple points of failure and is expensive instead of not smoking inside the gunpowder depot. So the fact that the people selling these faulty and horrible products are true scumbags doesn't change the fact that the idea of, especially this design, an automatic litterbox makes my brain hurt.

  8. In a normal world at least 2 people would die in the scenario you've described. Imagine many years ago, you are either a samurai or perhaps a norse noble. You know your mother can't have a specific type of food. You go to food place you ask them to not include that type. You tell them what they brought out is suspicious. They tell you that no no, it's what you wanted. You test it yourself it's still sus, owner confirms that it is in fact a lie and your mother would have died from it. The heads of both the "staff" and "cook" would be on a pike come morning. Alternatively if they can prove it was the owner who lied and the others believed them then the owner would be executed. But heads would roll either way.

  18.  @sigheyeroll  I mean, I kinda see your point, but you are wrong tho, aren't you? Why should somebody care wether some jackass, either due to suicide or by stupidity got gibbed by the train? I wouldn't complain, because the train and the tracks have to be cleaned, an administrative process have to be observed and so on and so forth. But pretending to care about that individual life seems rather off to me, they weren't any different from the literal billions of individuals I do not know and am neither willing nor able to care about, had nothing to do with the incident either so let's just quite literally move on.
