  1.  @reenierossi3724  The Queen gave the Harkles a lease on the property probably at a nominal rent .MM wanted drastic alterations made to Frogmoor Cottage and they ended up costing over 2 million pounds .I believe the lease has expired and Charles has decided not to renew it given the Harkels do not use the Cottage very much at all. A sensible decision in my opinion .

  2. It was not a cruel decision but very practical as it is not sensible to leave a property empty for month after month and probably year after year.
