Jim Winter what on earth are you talking about ? Coutts decided they did not want Farage as a customer and I do not see that is a problem for anyone but him. He should stop moaning and find a new Bank.

@acousticguitarcrazy6385 It is laughable to see Farage playing the part of an innocent victim.

Jack I do not expect the Labour Party to comment as Farage is not a Socialist or even sightly left leaning .
2
@robertstraw9881 Gordon Brown is not involved in front line politics but he is a well respected political commentator.
2
@TheSeNaBi All I know is that Nigel is not in a panic .I suspect he has other Bank Accounts but is being rather economical with information .
2
@chronomaster5779 I think the Bank is concerned that by association the reputation of the Bank might be affected but it is nothing to do with liking or disliking merely an evaluation of risk.
2
I think in the public interest both you and Farage ought to be shut down .What a pair of whiners !

@kieranh2005 If Farage had not created a song and dance then his banking arrangements would not have made the front page of the Daily Telegraph.
1
The Bank is actually behaving like a commercial organisation and Farage has nothing to complain about.
1
@mattharcla Don't be silly .I am an excellent customer and I do not make as much noise as Farage .
1
@ronnieince4568 Coutts did not breach confidentiality and Farage is the guilty party.
1
@dazbatch2532 I am just a person who detests bullies like Farage .
1
@MrDunkycraig The Bank did not take a moral standpoint but decided Farage was not the type of customer they wanted. I think Nigel has been indulged for too long and it is time he faced the fact that a proportion of the U K population can't stand him .
1
@anonnemo2504 You do not know anything about the Credit Crunch as indicated by your claim that Nat West was responsible for it.
1
@seansmith445 We have too many laws and I think it is perfectly reasonable for Banks to be selective as regards their customer base.
1
@trulyexorcise2918 Another storm in a tea cup caused by Farage .If he put as much energy into his financial affairs as he does into whining he would be far better off in my opinion.
1
@dazbatch2532 I think you are an idiot who leaps to conclusions .
1
@MrDunkycraig The Bank was perfectly entitled to withdraw its services from Farage . Coutts did not make any moral judgements but decided that it no longer wanted to be associated with him given his high profile .
1
@seansmith445 I heard Farage on the radio yesterday and it appears he does have other options .
1
@seansmith445 Coutts has been involved with Farage for many years and after a review of his financial affairs decided to terminate the arrangement .There is no question of the Bank turning down an application from Farage as you suggest .
1
@hemeluk4751 He was not refused an account by Coutts but the relationship was terminated after many years .
1
@anonnemo2504 At least I know more than you .
1
@SM-mz2hz I think the association between Farage and Coutts was thought to have potential for embarrassment. It is not a personal relationship and like or dislike is not actually relevant .
1
@ronnieince4568 I have not seen the document supplied by Coutts and I wonder how you managed to obtain a copy .Farage has been a client of Coutts for many years and it seems to me that the Bank decided that for a number of commercial reasons the relationship between the Bank and the customer was no longer working.I do not believe there has been any prejudicial behaviour by Coutts but there has clearly been extreme prejudice exhibited by Farage who has sought maximum publicity for his own reasons .
1
@hemeluk4751 I disagree. In my experience it is unusual for a Bank to close an Account or Accounts and I do not think any general issue / problem can be identified from Farage's experience .I think Farage is annoyed and is trying to discredit Coutts for having the temerity to close his Accounts . In fact he was actually offered a National Westminster Account which is part of the same Group as Coutts but he has turned that proposal down.
1
What moral judgements were made by Coutts ?
1
@rfurdaylee Because Farage has views which may people find objectionable.
