MM had been negotiating the Oprah interview many months before the Harkles left the UK for Canada .She used the interview as a launch pad for their career in the U S and I do not know if they received payment for it . My most vivid memory of the interview was the black dress worn by MM with what appeared to be bird lime on the shoulder . She was extremely confident if not over confident and seemed ready for a fight .

@judiththirlwell417 I agree she had the script memorised but trying to bring off the victim scenario was a bit too much even for a good actress and MM is not that . The irony is that H M the Queen had made elaborate arrangements for her induction to the firm but MM was determined to learn nothing deliberately.

@dukey19941 It was an extremely silly thing to say but I think H was overwhelmed by his new girl friend . He saw her as a Hollywood star rather than an obscure actress on a humble Canadian soap .

@kitsiewr MM has a very good opinion of herself and treats other people as if they are not equal to her in intelligence . She clearly comes across as unpleasant and dictatorial to anyone who is a subordinate and that will make it difficult for her to create any sort of business .
