Sarah and Andrew Divorced years ago but as they share two children they are not just friends but house mates too.The Royal family are aware of the living arrangements at Royal Lodge and it would seem odd in the circumstances not to include Sarah in any invitations extended to Andrew . Another factor is that Sarah was close to H M the Queen and spent time with her while she was very ill .The Royal family do not forget compassion.
