I am anxious that Trump is punished for his criminal behaviour but I would like to see a research project which involves establishing why so many Americans were persuaded to vote for this dangerous man .I can't help but think that many Trump supporters are disenchanted with the way the U S A is run and the faults they identify need to be addressed .

  2.  @teo2975  Thank you for pointing out that a strong UK has benefitted the response to Putin's aggression .An independent voice and decision maker is a valuable asset for the EU , NATO and Putin's victims in the nightmare we are currently facing. I agree the Germans and French have almost been subservient to Russia for too long.

  3.  @russianman340  I do not think it is strange that the British people sympathise with a country endangered by a large and powerful neighbour.The UK was in mortal danger in 1939 of being invaded by Hitler's army and to this day people remember what effect the danger had on their family members. As regards training the Ukraine Army the UK is a major Arms supplier and much of the advice given was connected to the sale of complex weapons.

  4.  @russianman340  Are you 100% certain that you have been told the truth ? If you are confident then contact the Guardian Newspaper who have facilities to check any facts you can supply. I read Newspapers daily, listen to the B B C and read the New York Times once or twice a week and I do not recognise what you are saying. If the UK population has been misinformed the truth will surface because we have a free press and people want the truth.

Perhaps you can take my advice about contacting The Guardian which is a completely independent newspaper where you can be confident that your truth will be taken seriously .

Coleen the problem is that at the time of Trumps nomination his candidature was treated as a bit of a joke .I think in future your advice should be followed for every candidate and it would not do any harm to test their knowledge of the Constitution because Trump clearly knew nothing when he was inaugurated and probably still knows very little .

  17.  @joanfrellburg4901  Trump has so many unattractive features that he ought to be unelectable but nevertheless he was President for 4 years .I have to admit it worries me that so many people voted for a man who had absolutely no experience of government and a spotty record as a business man. All political thinkers need to consider how U S Democracy can be improved to improve the quality of future candidates and prevent the election of another Trump.

  20.  @rolly1212  An age limit of 65 seems sensible to me but physical and mental health checks should also be mandatory . May I also suggest that each candidate ought to be tested on their knowledge of the U S Constitution an area where Trump was sadly lacking.
