  1. Joan what did you find surprising ? It is perfectly clear that Boris is unsuitable for high office .In addition to partygate we have his habit of leaving top secret papers lying about for his wife's friends to read. He seems incapable of sound judgement and needs to be removed before more damage is done.

  6.  @jonsmith5058  I think the senior people within the Conservative Party have been anxious to get rid of this Maverick but needed to get all the ducks in a row before striking. Partygate is actually pretty serious because it demonstrates to the electorate that Boris is a hypocrite and a self indulgent scoundrel .Those who have known Boris for several years probably knew he would be unable to treat lockdown with the seriousness demanded .How very different to the Queen who observed the rules consistently.

  8.  @jamesrawlins735  He is an intelligent person but is clearly incapable of self discipline . I think he. might be able to deliver a decent speech but that might well be followed by a shambolic performance the following day

How could any professional politician fail to understand that all gatherings / parties do not conform to the rules introduced with lockdown. Look at the mess he created for the family of the Iranian / British lady currently held by the government of Iran.
