  1. I have a horse who is scared of going to near a certain door when I'm riding him and I had to take him to that door again and again to let him know that there is nothing to be afraid of. This is not animal abuse. Yes, the dog is whimpering, but having if you put pressure on it, then release by letting the dog out. The dog will eventually learn that there is nothing to be worried about if you continuously do it.
