As someone who is adopted, I don't think it's a bad idea, but if the adopted parent raises the child for their whole life, then I think it would be harder for that child to reconnect with their birth parents. I don't want to travel back to Russia to find out who my birth parents were. I am happy with my family and I would never trade it in for anything. But that's just my opinion.
