  1. Isn't it kind of presumptuous assuming what someone else does or doesn't know about history? Even if your ancestors were slaves you have no more clue what they lived through than Peter does or I do for that matter. My ancestors were potato famine Irish, when they came to this country they had it little better. At least they were free, granted, but the discrimination was bad for them too. But we live in the here and now. It is important to understand history...true history not this revisionist garbage they are now pushing. But where is the point in continuing to divide us because of skin color? You just make the problems worse. Resentment breeds racism...in people of any skin color!

  3. I was born in 68. What you said about putting it behind us by the nineties...yes. I feel the same and have said as much so many times. There will always be racism and ignorance but MLKs dream was coming true. Color was becoming meaningless....then the race baiters and politicians started up. Pitting us against each other. Pretty much destroying all the progress of the previous three decades...you aren't the only one that sees it for what it is.
