  1. @Stephen Park: my 2 cents: 1. you have to monetize. viewers today have built up a tolerance for ads, so 5-sec ads at the ends are okay. 2. your topics are great, they truly are; im a picky narcissist. but most people are shallow and only the wanderlust or truly open-minded like such diversity of topics, hence the volatility in video viewership. you can either get the right kind of viewers from fb ads or collaborations with vloggers. 3. ab produces 7-12 videos, thats 2-3 videos/week. the output doesnt have to be high but releases need to be consistent. think of it as waiting for the next game of thrones episode. 4. videos has to include funny elements, not everyone have dominant left brains. i know you dont want the gimmicks of a mainstream but something's gotta give - we need the viewership. 5. you need to hire people from diverse backgrounds. styles can be learnt, your quality threshold & production technical can be written as training manuals to mitigate the high turnover you'll face in the next few years - but quick wit and seeing things from a different angle while diplomatically asking different questions to probe do not flourish when you hire people of only a certain type.
