  1. if the goal is to work overseas, the IIT route is a dumb path. you'll get a better shot with online degrees, brushing up language skills and working on physical appearance for a placement, saving that extra money for the initial living cost abroad. someone with a portfolio of projects (even for unpaid personal use) will have a better shot than the best fresh grad. however pedigree is still required for top jobs but a so-so worker in europe makes more than an IIT working in india.
