the truth is somewhere in the middle and reporting half-truths is considered a lie when it comes to journalism. it's assimilation albeit forced to achieve the same end result everybody wanted: less ethnic division and enjoying of a slice of prosperity the country has to offer. maybe china could apologise as the americans did to their natives .... in 50 years.

@aggressivecalm imprisoned, starved, raped, tortured, abuse are part of the american package. where do you think the chinese got the idea of forced assimilation from? i didnt hear any report of starvation and rape on xinjiang and sterilisation technology hasnt existed back then but americans do have a long track record of performing human experiments. scale is of no importance since the americans actually wiped out the natives while china kept virtually everyone alive.

australia, united states and canada are the 3 countries who have used similar tactics in the past. canada recently apologised, hence 50 years old apology still count.

@aggressivecalm i dont take lying as a great conversation. you just said those didnt happen. also i see forced assimilation as a greater good esp for the long term - that is if you dont hold that backward mentality of 'you are either with us or against us'. germany sweden france denmark and even here in the states .... a lot of problems arise due to lack of assimilation and lack of skills.
