Socialism would have made the vast majority happy but would have lost out to other countries in terms of wealth and future wars. Capitalist country would have to impoverish socialist countries to prove the notion that a country living comfortably with modest income is impossible. Bald got this point well since his journeys in eastern europe, correctly pointing out the sanctions that made these countries poorer than they should be. Affordable education / health / housing were the main communist selling points and what everyone in western countries also wanted today.

@sssummmak because they were never given a chance to flourish. most of europe is socialist. the high taxes pays for cheap health and education. do you know europe's cost of living crisis is a western problem? my electricity is $0.10 per kwh, eggs are $1 for 10, ron98 is $1 per liter. Do you know where the difference come from? The nationalized energy company charges only 3% profit while europe pay a market price with big oil earning 20%. Lower prices in energy reduce everything else across the country. This is what a proper education brings - the ability to analyse the economy from the bottom up.

@TheAndreso_ sanctions make a country earn less profit on export and increases the price on imports. I will give you an example: urals (russia) is trading at a $30 discount and merey (venezuela) is at $28 discount compared to brent oil - all are fob price. WHY? Sanctions !! as a comparison, saudi and uae are selling $1 above brent. Corruption does play a role but a proper education lets you see everything. remember that !!

@luisdanielmesa which part? that venezuela is forced to sell their oil cheap and import more expensively? or the way socialism works by extracting high taxes? let's prove this one by one and see the effects of excellent education. i have nothing to hide. whatever i say can be verified wiith public information. im not against capitalism. that would be hypocrisy for an nyc banker but i know how things work.
