@littleredruri Lol it's pretty, that's it. It also didn't revitalize shit, CGI has gotten worse since Avatar 1 and will continue to do so due to overworked animators under the corporate yoke. It's like saying that because a game has the prettiest graphics yet that it somehow is important. It looking gorgeous doesn't mean much if it's a boring, soulless film. Saying it revolutionized filmmaking "in general" is a laughable claim. It has no cultural impact. Some fancy tech =/= cultural impact. For all the money it makes and how pretty it looks, it's still an utterly insignificant movie that is only mentioned in conversations where you briefly say "wow Avatar looked great" and then move on with your day. Cope.

Absolutely this but unironically. They were able to do deeper emotional movies at one point, now it's just repeating the same mid material that's focus-group-tested to pull at your heart strings if you're not aware of the rote techniques being used. Just make fun animated movies again.

Phase 1 and 2 of the Infinity Saga were mercifully short at 5 movies each with an Avengers film as payoff compared to Phase 4 which has 7 movies and 7 shows that don't connect at all in any meaningful way and have no collective payoff.
