@Notevenallowedtoburnwood No, you have it the wong way around, it is you that is disengenious, because what you are saying is wrong and inacurate, you are wrongbwhen you say what your nationality in your passport is 'is nothing' it means a freat deal, and you are confusing ethnicity with nationality, and you are confusing being being Japanese with being Asian, which is getting into dangerous territory of racial stereotyping, and as much as i dislike this Narinda woman, people like you are only proving her right about peoples attitudes about their racial preconceptions. Someones ehnicity and what their nationality is, are completely different things and are not mutually exclusive.
A person who was born in the UK and of British heritage moves to the USA and they get USA Citizenship. What is their nationality?

@Notevenallowedtoburnwood No, it is you that is being disengenious; because what you are saying here, is wrong and incorrect; and what is in someone's passport doesn't mean nothing, it means a great deal; you are confusing ethicity with nationality, and you are confusing being Japanese, with being Asian, and you are getting into dangerous territory of racial stereotyping, and dare i say as much as i do not like this Narinda woman (huge understatment), when people say the things that you are saying now, you are proving her right and making her point for her about some people's racial preconceptions.
So if a man who was of British ethnicity, who was born in the UK, moved to the USA and got USA citizenship? what would be his nationality?

@echelon2k8 l'll edit what i want anbd say it how i want, you are not the boss of me, and if you don't like it, tough, i don't really care how you feel about it.
Normally i would agree with you about what you said about people who bring up race, but not in my case, i am married to someone ho isn't the same race as me, i have house shared with people of other races, and my best friend is a different race, so if i am a rracist, i am terrible at it! Lol
Also, i am not the person saying i would rather have people the same colour as me in the same country as me am i? you are, it is you that is trying to project it onto me. I find your ststment, that the people you would choose to be here, not based on who they are, their upbringing, character or culture, but completely on their ethnicity, absolutely outrageous. Would you describe that as racial bias based purely on race?

@echelon2k8 "Crying about it? Hey,
this is for your benefit, not mine. If you
actually want others to notice your
comments in the future and reply to
them, doesn't it makes more sense to put them where they'll have more of a chance of being seen than not? Personally, I don't care if I read your comments or not, so keep doing you if that makes you happy"
If you don't care, don't go on about it; otherwise, you're just contradicting yourself.
"Not purely on their race, purely on their
ethnicity, as that's the stuff that actually
matters. Yes, I'd click my fingers and
do an instant swap right now if I had
that power. I mean, why would anyone
want to be around groups of people
that they don't want to be around over
those that they do? Life should be about
intentionally maximizing our chances
for happiness and success, not about
intentionally limiting it"
Again; you're contradicting yourself.. One minute you're saying you would choose people to be here from all over the world, as long as they are who are of racially anglo-saxon decent, regardless of whether they have set foot in or raised in the UK ir not, in other words cukturally different; then the next minute, you are saying that their race doesn't matter, as long as have British values and same culture; which is it? Yoiu don't seem to know if you are coming or going Lol

@echelon2k8 Again, if if it doesn't bother you why mention it Lol Your moaning belies your words. Regardless, my answer is the same, i couldn't care less if you answer or not Lol.
My original post, back before you arrived in the thread; was that you can be British, regardless of what your race (biological make-up) is. You have said yourself, that race isn't the determining factor as to who you would choose to have here in the UK, rather their idilogies and cultural behaviour and values, their 'ethnicity'. So what you just said, is that race is irrelivent, and people from all over the world, regardless of race (biological ancestry)that share your 'ethnicity' can be Britsh and come here to live, and are preferable to live with.
If your answer to this is no, then tell me what YOUR definition of being British is and 'ethnicity'?
