  1. as a small business owner, i agree. My company couldn't survive without easy access to customers and suppliers in Europe. I had to replace a british supplier when the UK left the single market.

  2.  SF  i'm not sure what you mean? When i order components from my EU based suppliers, i don't pay VAT. It's one of the reasons why i don't want to use UK based suppliers anymore. I'm not going to waste my time applying for VAT refunds, if such an arrangement has even been made yet.
