i am very happy with Germany's new chancellor. Don't know much about his internal policies, but i agree with most of the foreign policies.

i enjoyed this conversation very much. It's so nice listening to 2 adults talking about economy and geopolitics without predicting the collapse of everything. Reality is usually not that dramatic.

i was a little worried to be honest. Not sure if AfD could have formed a government, even if they got the most votes. But it is good that it didn't come to that. I am very hopeful about Merz, he could be just the guy we need right now. The EU could really use someone less timid than Scholz. Time will tell.

good point. We might see a little battle of the egos there...

considering that China's economy and power is larger than the rest of BRICS combined, it's kinda hard for me to see BRICS as anything other than a Chinese lead version of the G7.

funny thing is, that US hegemony is exactly what allowed globalized trade to happen. A multipolar world will once again be full of great power politics, proxywars and protectionism. It is really just a return to the bad old days...

@thejollygreendragon8394 not sure what happened, there were 2 very good comments from 2 German guys?

@Alex-y9j2b China's navy is larger than the US now, remember?

@Alex-y9j2b when is the last time the US fought a naval battle?

where exactly is the workforce going to come from? How will the US both deport 11 million migrants, and staff all these new factories?
1
@ come from where exactly?

But only if the other side believe that France would retaliate on behalf of another country. I don't think a nuclear umbrella is going to be credible, unless all members has control of some nukes themselves.

@EvilGNU thank you, very interesting hearing from a German.

i think it is gonna work the other way. The rise in protectionism and tariffs will force companies to move production back to Europe. Global supply lines require global stability.

Hi Pyotr, i had a thought recently, and i would love to hear your opinion about this, maybe in a future video: It is really all about nukes! Russia has them, but most of Europe does not. So Europe has to rely on the US nuclear umbrella, which makes it very hard to do anything without the US. Why can't Europe defend itself without the US? Nukes. Why won't Germany send tanks to Ukraine unless the US does it first:? Nukes. Why are most European countries against sending troops to Ukraine, unless the US does it as well? Nukes. The fact that we do not have our own way to retaliate, means that Russia can deter us from getting too involved, unless the US goes first.

i don't see a lot of difference between the US, China and Russia these days. I kinda hope the US loses the race, that would be fun to watch.
