Just to clarify, the 3M figure mentioned in the video includes all artillery calibers and rockets. The number of 152mm shells are estimated to 1,3M annually. Which is actually less than the current capacity for 155mm shells in NATO.

@deriznohappehquite yeah, EU manufacturers are still exporting to other countries. Which is pretty frustrating tbh...

@cryptarisprotocol1872 what is more likely: Every other source who says 3M shells in total is wrong, or a CNN journalist hearing 3M shells and just assuming it is all 152mm?
4
@cryptarisprotocol1872 where did the Pentagon state that number? Where did you read it or watch it?
2
@cryptarisprotocol1872 a reporter from CNN speaking to someone in the Pentagon is not a very reliable source. There is a reason why most people here don't watch channels like CNN. But russia produces a lot of different calibers, such as 100mm and 122mm shells. And the smaller ones have shorter range and much less effect. It is the 152mm and NATO's 155mm that makes the difference, there is a reason why no one in the west is talking about NATO's 115mm shells. So i am more interested in how many 152mm shells russia can produce, than how many shells in total.

@AlexanderTch the numbers are estimated by NATO intelligence.
2
but the EU is really just getting started, while russia is at max capacity...
2
@AlexanderTch no, the numbers have been published by various institutions, and repeated in various media.

@AlexanderTch links get deleted, you should know that. But you can find published reports on many European government websites. An example is Estonia's ministry of defense. The estimates vary a little, but most are around 3M shells of all calibers.

Skynet? really? 😄

i think you are making uranium a bigger deal than it actually is. Niger may be the 7. largest producer, but it is just 4% of global production. The mines in Niger are co-owned by Niger and the french state owned company Orano. But Orano has mines in Canada and Kazakhstan too, plus the rights to start a mine in Usbekistan. The point is, any supply problems created by a conflict in Niger would be short term. Uranium is not really that rare or valuable.

the pipelines through Ukraine are supplying something 5% of EU gas imports. The main supplier to Europe is now Norway. Most of the uranium doesn't come from russia, russia ais just enriching it. And the EU has roughly the same capacity for uranium enrichment as russia. Fun fact: the largest uranium mine in Kazakhstan is majority owned by France...
