Wind energy covers almost 50% of our electricity consumption here in Denmark. The main reason why it is not more, is a lack of energy storage. But solar and biogas are also working well. Biogas is mostly produced from farm waste. The main reason why i like wind, solar and biogas so much, is because of energy security. I don't really care if it is green or not.

@annan7728 just the French being French. It seems to get a lot of attention from non-Europeans for some reason, but to most Europeans it is just another French protest....

The only ones threatening to invade Greenland is the US.
3
because it doesn't really matter. The dollar will still be the global reserve currency for a very long time, since there is no valid replacement.
3
The only ones with a claim to Greenland, are the Greenlanders.
3
@jmcw9632 absolutely. But the majority of our wind turbines are on land. Many of them are owned by farmers, that place the turbines in the wind breaks between fields. The same goes for solar farms and biogas facilities. They are often owned or co-owned by local farmers.
2
@velisvideos6208 the point is that wind energy work, even if more energy storage is needed if we want to fully replace fossil fuel. And I think the main argument for renewables is energy security, not co2 emission.
2
@agustintarzian9450 no wait, i just looked it up, and the Greenlanders are actually EU citizens. Even though the country itself is not an EU member. It makes no sense.
2
russia has had that gas for decades, and russia is still a poor country...

Greenland is a country, in a union with Denmark and the Farao Islands. We cannot sell Greenland, because we do not own it. There are 2 ways Greenland could join the US, the Greenlanders could vote about it, or by force.

@pouyaz8472 that is not as simple as you might think. Most currencies are not accepted outside their home country. If i paid you in my currency, Danish Krone, then you could really only use that money to buy something in Denmark. If i paid you in Dollars, then you could spend it in most countries around the world. Of course you can exchange the money in the bank, but your bank will not be interested in having large quantities of Danish Krone.

@truthmonster3290 russia is no longer a reliable supplier. Nobody wants to be dependent on russian gas again.
1
have you seen the value of the rubble lately? 😄
1
Greenland is not a member of EU.
1
@agustintarzian9450 Greenland left the EU in 1985. They are not EU citizens. But they are connected to the EU through Denmark. So yeah, it's complicated.
1
EU needs to do the same. There is no way around it, we can't allow China to flood Europe with subsidized goods and destroy our own industries.
1
You don't know anything about Greenland 🙄
1
the gas flow was turned off a month before the pipeline was damaged.
1
@echoeversky the average temperature in Europe was 1,4 degrees above average. The winter was mild, but not that much...
1
you have been watching too much russian propaganda. The poorest are struggling, but the average European is just fine.
1
There is no oil, and the US has a mining agreement with Greenland already. The reason why exploration is limited is due to cost of extracting those minerals.
1
@agustintarzian9450 what? I mean there is no oil in Greenland, obviously. All drilling has come up dry so far.
