  1. The avg salary of an ALT in Japan is around 170,000-200,000 yen before tax. Salary as an English teacher hasn't increased since I lived there 7yrs ago. Most of the foreigners living Japan that teach English fall under this lvl of salary. The lvl of entitled or high earning foreigners in Japan are the minority, not the majority. I also know many Japanese that make a lot more than the avg foreigner.
